Try to dodge and block, and set up repair stations in forward camps until you get the ability to teleport home.
And not every game has to be soulslike, i find this trend very disturbing that you are 1 hit unless you perfectly dodge or block an enemy attack
this game is EXTREMELY easy and forgiving compared to ANY souls like game unless you literally cranked up the difficulty to the maximum.
even trying to compare it to "souls like" is the most ridiculous thing i've heard all day
If you find yourself struggling, just turn down the bloody difficulty, it's there for a reason.
You don't even have to "block at the right moment", you can literally hold down the block button forever, you can spam shield bashes to knock enemies down, you can literally WALK out of enemy attacks
and if you're dying that fast, again, you've cranked up the difficulty beyond what you were supposed to and/or are late game with very poor armor and preparation. all of that is a "you" problem
so please cut it out with the completely ridiculous "souls like" comparsion, because if you find this hard, you wouldn't even beat the tutorial boss in elden ring.
the problem can be easily solved in 2 ways:
A) actually learn the extremely easy and forgiving simple combat system and/or upgrade your equipment. if you're anywhere NEAR a point where bosses 1 shot you, (again, they don't if you're playing the appropriate difficulty) you should have the resources to set up forward camps with repair stations. Failure to prepare is, again, a you problem.
B) turn down the difficulty.
I'm actually curious now what boss it was.
Game reporters with crash bandicoot be like.
No, but seriously, just because it's not a farming sim does not mean it's Souls-Like, at all. Just turn down the settings, if its genuinely "too hard", or just take your time with combat, learn the system, blah blah blah.
Could also play something else, if its that big of a beef for you!
Don't get me started on how broken ranged combat can be with how bad the enemies pathfinding is. This isn't a hard game even on the hardest settings.
I shield-based a Bat on one of the stairs. Promptly followed it down.
Ouch.
