Metal fragments
Allow us to craft it from iron! I thought after year you could understand that people like to build torches everywhere. It cost fragments. A LOT. Allow us to craft it, or just remove cost.

I break everything, those skeletons, buckets, everything drops metal frags and wood, cloth too sometimes, and thats the first area.

The beginning area respawns the fragments and wood. Put a fast travel and your golden.

Guys, i use in a single small room around 50 torches. Plus you need to repair gear. In big areas it can be 100+ torches easily. I got tons of ore, and i can't use it for torches? I have to hunt orc patrols to get extra fragments.

Regular torches are awful. Get out of the western halls and start using crystal sconces or lamps.

That said, if you are dead set on trying to find a use for metal fragments, I have a pile of around 2-3,000 sitting in a world I made specifically to dump excess trash items.
I am also running into a shortage of these and really wish I could just craft them. Especially the Gundabad slag for the bets armor. I have a group of 4 that are playing together and some of us are not the best at fighting so our armor gets destroyed quite often. We are completely out of metal fragments at the moment and it is incredibly tedious to scrounge for them. Just let me make them out of iron or in the case of Gundabad some much more rare material. It just does not make sense that a dwarf has to use scrap to make something and cannot just manufacture it if they have the right materials.

Use mode to craft scrap with iron bar. Really helps

If you're really desperate, the starting area respawns nearasdamnit a full stack of both metal fragments & wood (plus a few cloth) every 5 minutes or so. It takes less than a minute to collect them all once you get used to where they all are, so you can build up a nice stock while just watching a vid or something.

Waiting in the same room in between respawns doesn't prevent this from happening, so you can easily see when they start popping again.

the armor made from slag isnt the best one.

There is your problem. You build TOO MUCH torches.

You spam torches in every inch but then wonder why you have not enough resources left? And then you complain to the game's developers? What's wrong with you?

The game is about restoring Moria. The only thing that you can build outside of base - ugly torches. Moria shouldn't be in darkness. But this problem was a long time ago. There are tons of problems in this game. Moria devs was bited by Valheim devs! And that is really sad!

When you come to new places - its darken there and cold. With light sources you get cozy place + resist to cold during The Dark. The only light source i can build, that devs gave me - torches. We got tons of materials that we do not use during game. And its a SHAME. We can't build BIG crystal lamp.

Take this bloody coins back

dont worry, take priority on progress instead
sooner or later you will unlock more options
