I fell into a Dark Shaft?? Help please
So, I accidentally fell down a dark mine shaft by accident, and to my surprise I made it all the way down, almost died to the fall, but then died immediately to some spiders. I didn't even know there was such a place down there, I assumed it would black out the screen and reset me like when we fall into water.

So, my question is: is there a way up from down there? Because I need to recover my gear and my full backpack. If there isn't a way back up, is it viable to simply build platforms and rope ladders to make my way down and then back up?

It's my first blind playthrough, I am still with tier 2 weapons and armors, and I haven't explored the whole Deeps yet, and didn't make it to the drain also. So I was VERY surprised to learn there was something down those cracks that I was avoiding for so long.

Yeah, I didn't die from the fall, but the spiders killed me like instantly, so my gear is still down there.

So building platforms and rope ladders is the only way, right? Ooof, hopefully I can pull it off xD

These mines are the best source of valuable gems needed for crafting. They are inhabited by spiders and some other nameless mob that is quite tough, Also, despair sets in eventually if you stay down there too long. I recommend placing a map stone and a small camp for storage and respawn at the bottom. After that, death becomes just slight inconvenience as you can quickly get back from any point to reclaim your gear. You'll want to come back for the gems,
