Am I mistaken?
Wasnt one of the other ability's of Durin's Lamp was to keep despair away in those deep deep crevice areas? If so, it doesnt. x.x

Carrying Durins axe does, but it still keeps you in darkness.

Where did the game say that?

The wizard mark right above the entrance to deepest dark crevice says "The shadows of the lower deeps are not strong against the light of Durin's Lamps." So doesn't specifically say it keeps despair away or keeps you from getting despair. Just says not strong against the light. So perhaps it slows it down a bit? That's the only thing i've seen so far in game that talks about it.
