Can I drop in and drop out from public games?
And how progression works between hosts including when I host game myself?

So you can't drop into public games, every world is private or single player and you need an invite code to join one. However, lets say the procedural world you have isn't one you like you can bring your character and whatever they have on them with you to a new world without losing anything.
Valheim's system in a sense.

That's a shame.

Is there a game that allows such casual drop in and out?
Might be worth my time. I sometimes like solo other times to work together.

Enshrouded allows it, the devs put in a system with an update that allows the host to protect his base from trolls now, i havent test it yet, but before i could go in those worlds and help out, usually trolls had destroyed everything though.

I looked at Enshrouded but it seemed solo wouldn't be great for it.
Me and my mates rarely get together to play so I'd spend a lot of time solo-ing.
Valheim looked good for solo though...
