question about farming?
so I am in the lower deeps and just built my first brewing keg, I need a lot of oats. I have a couple but they're pretty rare in my game so far. I know a couple of areas they do grow though. I want to farm more. So far in farming everytime i've planted one thing, one thing has grown from it so there's no way to farm more than you find. Is the only way to get more to keep visiting the spots they grow naturally, or to randomly find seeds? is there no way to take seeds from the plant? how do I farm more than 1 of a plant if I have it to start with

When using a plant bed or the farm box leave it alone for a few days. It maxes out at 4 units of what you plant. There are natural spawn farm boxes in various locations, should be one in the Elven Quarter or Elf regions. Pay attention to if it's in shade or a sunshaft with the shining rocks. Mushrooms can only be farmed in shaded areas.
Also note that plant growth only updates its growth when you use the bed. So if your prone to pushing long working days the planets will seem to grow slower. They still grow based on time, but the actual growth doesn't calculate unless you sleep.

Seeds are a good way to plant some new crops but you can often take one of an existing crop & plant it (assuming its compatible with the grow bed & light, some arn't) Then you just need to leave it long enough to grow the full stack of 4 before harvesting, planet 1 back, and leave alone until it grows up to 4 again.

The real problem is getting the materials for the growbeds in the first place. At least in my seed, Bats are rare as heck even if I try to hunt them at night in the dark. I actually get most of my bat droppings from night raids... if the horde can't path to you properly in a night raid it will just spawn lots of bats to throw at you.

ohhhhh thanks, yeah I was just going back after sleeping once and just seeing 1 had grown. I'll leave it for a few days and check again
