they really need work on weapon/armour durability.
Just started playing been attacked by 3 goblins after killing 2 my shield and weapon is useless ,and ive not learnt how to repair em yet.....
So i died i respawned in my base just to see 2 other goblins bashing me and everything around ,wtf shouldn't raid end when i spawn? how i can defend myself having weapons destroyed ,or at lest shouldn't it spawn me in safe place ??
I liked game as far as i gone but i returned it cause such things are unbearable imho even at early access.
Probably will return if such things will be fixed/balanced cause it looks as decent game idea.

Once you get the materials, start carrying some small stacks of the right stuff with you. Stone, wood, coal, iron, and scrap metal. Enough materials to make a hearth and a repair station are all you need. Excluding the basic materials, you just need 6 coal for the 2nd tier hearth, and 5 iron for the repair station. You can build them in seconds, repair, and get back into the game.

In some situations, I build multiple repair stations through some big rooms, and I'll run to the station and quickly repair my armor/weapons right as bad guys are running up behind me. Sometimes I repair _while_ they're beating on me. The amount of armor I regain is still worth it even If I take a few hits. Even better if you can put a repair station somewhere the enemies can't follow like up on a ledge you can climb up on quickly.

The idea of armor in this game is quite unlike other games, in that armor is practically only giving you additional health points here which can be repaired fast. And I agree, for my taste the armor breaks too easily; they should think about adding a fixed amount of damage reduction per armor tier.

u got no my point mate i am at first camp i barely repaired first heartstone ...ive no learn a word about workbenches or repairs and i am attacked already destroying my weapon and shield ...how it is logical?
game taught me up to that point things i needed so or this attack came too early or weapon durability is totally screwed.
Ive got steam refund ,i will surely watch game cause i liked it alot but for me to return i need see they balanced this stuff first.

Well, sorry, but that seems to be more on you then the game. There is a blocking mechanism. Reduces ALL damage. You just right click your mouse to block. Works with all weapons and shields if you have one equipped. Either block, or move backwards. I do both, frequently. The tools are there.

have you even read what i wrote? after fighting 2 goblins my axe and shield was already destroyed...show me another game where ur weapon break after fighting 2 regular enemies....ah sorry i killed 1 rat yet before....
You should learn how to repair weapons before any fight (especially if they break so easily),there is no single word about this up to point where you are attacked.
And you respawn already under attack w/o weapons etc say me it slogic what game respawn you in place where you will be under attack at once...?
If my first camp was under attack i should spawn outside so i have any chance to arm myself or retreat and make any weapons and shields not in bed at once bashed by 2 goblins lol its an absurd.

the lowest tier weapons are designed to be crap, you will toss them and make another tier 1 ax as necessity demands. As soon as you have 3 ingots of iron, you will have repair station. the weakness of tier 1 encourages you to make certain progress with building, and also to acquire new blueprints. this sets the pace for game progression

Of course low tier stuff sucks. Sounds like you just need some patience and learn how to do combat.
Once you can make iron ingots you just carry 5 with you, and build a repair station if you need it.
But hey, glad you refunded, clearly this is not for you.

you guys seemingly not read at all ....i dont have much against basic weapons being weak but against that so game dont say an word how to repair em before throwing u into combat ,anyway how you consider me to repair weapon while 3 gobbys are bashing my head?
Nvm anyway maybe its cause my poor english ,glad i was able to rewfund i will watch if something will be fixed about this ,cause overall game looks good.

We read, and we surprisingly... AGREED with you. The starting weapons are garbage. As others have said, it encourages you to make better.

But here's another solution. Carry more then one.

Have 5 slots on your hotbar be the same exact weapon. They're ridiculously cheap to make. One wears down, switch the others, repeat. Learn to block, learn to move around.

Once again, the tools are there.

There are settings that reduce durability loss and combat difficulty, along with others.
Going for the refund instead of exploring options shows rage quit syndrome.

You should learn how to build the repair station when you get your first iron ingots, since all it takes are a few of those. And the first attack only comes after you get the first iron ingots. Before that, those goblins do appear, but they escape if you get near.
I'm not sure how you managed to use up all durability on just two goblins. Might be a difficulty thing, check where it was set. Because, playing on normal, I never lost more than half during the first raid.

Edit: Reading back, you already refunded. In this case, you may of course disregard my advice.

I wrote few times already i was attacked while gathering this iron ore you mentioned ,i wasn't able to smelt it before attack there was 1 wave of 3 gobbys i killed 2 but shield and axe was goone then after respawn 2 other gobbys appearded in camp bashing me while i was raising from bed lol ...
U have few seconds immortailty from what i saw after respawn still it was kind aabsurdal to spawn in middle of mobs.
as i said 2 goblins and rat ,its ok i refunded but as i wrote i will be watching balancing and fixes,cause im still interested in game

There's nothing wrong with the game. Just learn to play better. But it's pretty clear you're not going to stop posting until you get some kind of echo chamber validation.

...Maybe I missed it, but reading back, you haven't mentioned that before, as far as I can see.
Maybe you started smelting the first bits of iron you got? Because that first attack is scripted, it happens very soon after you complete the task to mine and smelt the iron.
