1. Sorry, Skipping that question.
2. There are coal deposits around the map, super common in mines of moria. The shrooms are better by far. Save the coal for other things.
3. Killing patrols? no, I don't think there's any connection. The raids are based on how much noise you make overall.
4. You will need something like 20 black diamonds IIRC to rebuild the hoist at the crystal descent. So yeah, go nuts with mapstones. You can always dismantle mapstones you the player built and get back full 100% resources, including all 3 black diamonds. Just be aware that you need to build a hearth in order to put down a mapstone, and having a hearth makes it a camp.... sooooooo... you can get raids against a hearth as soon as you fast travel in. Build some walls/defenses just in case.
5. Yes, purple mist can be removed by building a durin's lamp. You get that blueprint super late game. Some areas have broken ones that can be cheaply repaired with granite and sunstone. I started carrying a small stack of each at all times to repair the broken ones I found. WAY cheaper to repair broken ones then it is to make a whole new one.
6. Weird, singing is something that should happen after you've been mining for a bit. Not sure about that ones. My character sang everywhere, darrowdelf, the desolation, etc.
7. Best legendary in my opinion was durin's axe It's not a weapon, it's a pickaxe, and it does like 50 dmg a hit to resource nodes. I never bothered to make the quarry master. Best legendary is really whatever fits your playstyle best. At the end of the game, you'll be carrying a masterwork weapon into the dragon bossfight mandatory. After that it's whatever floats your boat.
8. No clue if the watcher will respawn. I didn't build there. Something about the big lake of water just made it look super gloomy and depressing.
9 Bat droppings come from killing bats. 1 per kill. There will be events where you will return to your bases, just to see a whole bunch of bats just sitting still and flapping their wings. They don't attack or move. Free droppings. Bats will also show up in the deep, and along with some raids.
10. Granite is NOT a rare resource, but it's only in certain areas. You outgrow it when you move on to the harder areas, where everything is adamant. Go back to the mines of moria section of the map, and mine out entire deposits. A lot of the time I just mined out the visible ore (copper, etc), and left all the granite there. Tons and tons of unmined iretz granite I left behind. For a brief period, I needed granite to restore statues, but all the nodes in that area were adamant only. I was sort of scarce until I backtracked to older areas. Ultimately there's WAY more adamant out there.
Another solution is make a new map, bring your old character and gear into the new map and mine out granite there. Because you can go to other maps, many resources are actually available in infinite amounts.
