Update 2/14/2025:

Hello friends - we are currently working to publish the Dedicated Server files for all to see (free of course) as part of your Tools list. At this time we have a workaround if some of you would like to try this - using SteamCMD.

Please click this link to learn more. This is a very advanced method of installing the Dedicated Server so we recommend that you take caution and read the instructions carefully as we do not officially support this method. Once the matter is resolved with the release you will be able to acquire it normally from Steam (for free of course) and this will install the game in your normal default steamapps folder. We apologize for this delay and will update again when it is ready!

Hi all we are aware of some issues that players have found in update 1.3.3, and while the team investigates, we are here to help! This post will be kept updated with the latest information and workarounds, when possible. We also invite you to write us a ticket if you have any problems, we are here to help!!!

We are actively working on another rapid patch to address the following issues:
-Building stability and buildings blowing up
-The Ink Grinder not working
-Armor Stands not working
-Sieges triggering too often from fast travel

We'll get back to you on timing as soon as possible. Keep those support tickets coming. Especially if you are encountering the stability issues. Videos are great, as well as save files (both the MW and MC saves).

2. WHITE SCREEN / CAN'T START AT MAIN MENU: we’re aware of an issue occurring where players are becoming stuck on a while screen at the start of the game or cannot press the interface buttons at startup. The team are investigating this internally but we’ve found that this issue is occurring primarily to Windows N and KN users. If you install the VP9 Video Extensions via the Windows app and reboot, the game should play the videos correctly for you. 3. What are these "dot walls?"
We see some of you have encountered our famous "dot walls" in Moria. These are an intended part of the game, as the game loads in the next area. They're typically going to appear for 10-15 seconds, but even on systems with lower specs, or if you're online with a limited connection to the host. But they shouldn't last more than a minute or so. If you find they're persisting for you for a very long time, you may wish to try:
-- Save and exit and reload the game, especially if you have been playing for a very long time.
-- Check that you have the latest updated graphics drivers
-- Ensure no background processes, "overlays" or video card graphics managers are running, as these may be hogging your system when playing and incompatible with Return to Moria.
And if your issues persist beyond this, please submit a report with your specs, save and log files for the game to the support team to investigate.

My friends and I have been experiencing a bug where when travelling with the map stone it will not place you at the map stone you select but instead some kind of "default position" in the room that the map stone is in. This has lead to an issue where we traveled to the map stone at the top of the crystal decent and 2 of my friends were placed at the bottom of the chasm so now they are stuck there and we dont have enough black diamonds to build them a map stone to get out or repair the elevator. Anyone got an idea on how to get us out of this situation?

This is definitely an Unwelcome Feature/BUG that the Dev Team should address.

Hi Explode,

My Gaming Group and I experienced the same issue with the Crystal Descent Mapstone at the top, by the lift. We Unlocked the Mapstone, and thought great! Now we can teleport between our Moria Base, Elven Quarter Base, and the Crystal Descent... We teleport to the Crystal Descent, and find that we have matieralized at the bottom of the Crystal Descent.

Spoiler Alert:
There is a broken mapstone at the bottom of the Crystal Descent. You need someone to grab a care kit package: Coal, 5 iron Bars (for a Repair Station), Stack of Stone, Wood, etc... and they need to bring you 1 Black Diamond (to repair the MapStone at the bottom of Crystal Descent) from the Orc Areas in Elven Quarter or Mines of Moria. You can find Black Diamond in the Dead Orc Loot, or some Orc Chests.

Then, have that 1 person (create a new Character if you have to, as a Mule) to teleport down to your stuck team Members at the bottom of the Crystal Descent. Repair the MapStone down at the bottom, and you can Teleport back to your Bases in Moria and Elven Quarter at your whim. Good Luck!

Definitely a bug. We've encountered it as well. Until it's fixed, the way to avoid it from happening is to teleport 1 at a time. One person teleports, then clears the arrival area. Next person teleports, clears the area. Etc. Etc.

Белый экран. Клавиатура как будто отключается. Игра по сути не запускается. Вместо заставок начальных белый экран с сабами, после пишет на белом экране нажми го, но что не жми ничего не происходит.

had to run GE-Proton9-13 (flatpak) on linux to get the multiplayer to work, otherwise it just said "unable to connect" or similar.... I was host, didnt try to join. but it works.
the cut scenes are borked though, it all looks like a monitor test page showing different colours.

Using Proton on Ubuntu Linux - cut scene worked before this update, now I get the video test screen too. The movies in the game folder play fine when clicked on outside of the game.

The lighting, for me is an improvement.

Edit 10/17/2024 - The patch from today or yesterday (whenever it was published) fixed the issue with video playback for me!

The Great Furnace of Narvi is bugged, queue is stuck 0:00. Can't deconstruct, can't break it. I wasn't aware that sleeping while it's cooking causes it to become bugged.

Biggest issue is by far enemies spawning inside the base, in the hearth radius. I have a fully walled in room, fully lit with 12 hearts inside and I come back to find a bear in my base.

Once I left multiplayer mode from my friend's room, I will lose my character save data and I have to create a new one to play. There is no save data in local file and clouds.

I'm having the same problem now.. did you find why it was greyed out?
