Update 2/14/2025:

Hello friends - we are currently working to publish the Dedicated Server files for all to see (free of course) as part of your Tools list. At this time we have a workaround if some of you would like to try this - using SteamCMD.

Please click this link to learn more. This is a very advanced method of installing the Dedicated Server so we recommend that you take caution and read the instructions carefully as we do not officially support this method. Once the matter is resolved with the release you will be able to acquire it normally from Steam (for free of course) and this will install the game in your normal default steamapps folder. We apologize for this delay and will update again when it is ready!

Hi all we are aware of some issues that players have found in update 1.3.3, and while the team investigates, we are here to help! This post will be kept updated with the latest information and workarounds, when possible. We also invite you to write us a ticket if you have any problems, we are here to help!!!

We are actively working on another rapid patch to address the following issues:
-Building stability and buildings blowing up
-The Ink Grinder not working
-Armor Stands not working
-Sieges triggering too often from fast travel

We'll get back to you on timing as soon as possible. Keep those support tickets coming. Especially if you are encountering the stability issues. Videos are great, as well as save files (both the MW and MC saves).

2. WHITE SCREEN / CAN'T START AT MAIN MENU: we’re aware of an issue occurring where players are becoming stuck on a while screen at the start of the game or cannot press the interface buttons at startup. The team are investigating this internally but we’ve found that this issue is occurring primarily to Windows N and KN users. If you install the VP9 Video Extensions via the Windows app and reboot, the game should play the videos correctly for you. 3. What are these "dot walls?"
We see some of you have encountered our famous "dot walls" in Moria. These are an intended part of the game, as the game loads in the next area. They're typically going to appear for 10-15 seconds, but even on systems with lower specs, or if you're online with a limited connection to the host. But they shouldn't last more than a minute or so. If you find they're persisting for you for a very long time, you may wish to try:
-- Save and exit and reload the game, especially if you have been playing for a very long time.
-- Check that you have the latest updated graphics drivers
-- Ensure no background processes, "overlays" or video card graphics managers are running, as these may be hogging your system when playing and incompatible with Return to Moria.
And if your issues persist beyond this, please submit a report with your specs, save and log files for the game to the support team to investigate.

Keeps crashing right after startup, as soon as I move the mouse over to settings with this in the problem line (I think)

Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0xffffffffffffffff

Can't keep it up long enough to change the resolution from 4k.

Fix: Managed to get it up long enough to take it from fullscreen windowed to Fullscreen and it stopped crashing. Still using 4k tho.

Died, released, came back. couldn't move (prone), emoted, let me move but could no longer interact with anything, couldn't bring up the system menu to exit. Force quit only option.

So I had an issue where after I would start and move maybe a couple steps, a stack overflow error would crash the game to desktop. I happened to notice just before the crash, the button icons flickered between gamepad and keyboard icons. I have an Azeron one handed gaming mouse, and the button profile had the d-pad listed as both keyboard and xbox controller. When I changed this in Azerons softwaew to just be a keyboard, the crash stopped. I bet there was some kind of conflict. Hopes this helps someone.

Having trouble with the Watcher in the Water in offline single player. I know it's down there, that it's supposed to be a boss, and I can target it if I get close enough, but it never surfaces to fight. Eventually I just gave up and kept building to the pump station.

Once when I loaded in at the pumping station, it had destroyed several piers, it took one swipe at me, and my dwarf shouted it was diving, but then nothing. Not even fight music.

can't get multiplayer to work thru steam proton. cannot figure out what we are doing different. one account has no issue the other can't no issue. both same linux OS, both same steam proton version.

i have no idea how to contact support. its probably on the main screen lol... no i haven't tried that. i usually try forums first cuz im linux and usually support says "its linux falt"

it crashes when I try to pass the intro

Having an issue where sleeping isn't fully resetting stamina. It is only going to 3/5 bars for myself and one other player out of a group of 7. Disconnecting does not fix it

Game runs like ass no matter the settings. Audio constantly cutting in and out too. Still fun but yeah I can run much more demanding games perfectly so please get the stuttering under control, ty

Rebooted a few times and for whatever reason its running well at max settings. Audio is clear as day with no stuttering. No idea what was going on but hey Im not complaining.
