There are people over at GOG that have much more than me, this is not only about the ability to play games, is about having a way for them to be preserved, even if it is not perfect way yet.
DRM only at the end of the day affects paying customers.
There are constantly many new games coming out, many of which are good and we only have a limited amount of time to play them, especially if you have a job etc. We only live on average till 80 years old, sooner than later we will die, be gone, poof, if we're lucky we will get to see star citizen before that... So why am I going to worry about ancient games? I have a steam Lib full of games i've still not managed to get around to playing yet, hell i've still not completed the FF13 series... or 12, or 15, or 16.... So yeah. I'll be long dead before i would ever worry about playing an ancient game, and if said game was GOOD there is no doubt a remake or remaster of it a decade+ later.
I have an account\purchases of course, but after all these years prefer not to support steam any longer...
Everyone has different preferences. Some prefer old games. Games are art, not some disposable junk.
A remake is a different game entirely. Should we destroy the original Total Recall with Arnie, because they made a forgettable remake?
We ask for a GOG version, because we wish to buy it on GOG.
Man, Pirates don't beg, they take the ridiculously protected games from Steam, crack them in two seconds and deliver them to the seas and streams of the great internet for their personal glory.
GOG users pay handsomely and often have to wait years for a game because of idiot publishers. It will always be too late when they realize that there is a whole thriving market just because they ♥♥♥♥ themselves at the idea of unprotected products.
+1
you talking about Repacks, most of them need special software to play online with friends that own the game. GOG you wont need.
