Dedicated servers?

Is there a plan to release with dedicated servers? That would be great!

So they will only support windows, how typical. It's unbelievable how these companies keep doing that, they have no idea how important it is to offer Linux support for a dedicated game server.

I am running it via amp on a ubuntu machine.

i just set a up a server box and my buddy asked me if i could host a server for him, is it possible to run a dedicated server WITHOUT having to buy the game? I just want to host it for him, not play it myself.

So long as you have been accepted to the alpha for the dedicated server software and have recieved the key for that then yes. If not then no, they have closed the form for requests.

However if there is no benefit to a server for 1 person. When no one is online the server pauses.
The server also uses more cpu than it should (its in thier known issues and i have noticed my server pc using a bit more energy than previous servers.)
They put on discord that they will be working on it when they return in the new year, so i suspect it will be a couple of months before we see updates and fixes.
