Edit: Seems the first one will be free, the rest will cost real money. They will all be available through steam or the web version though
These expansions unlock new pve maps to play on.
You have two options of how to purchase them- one, just buy the content at a cheaper price using pizza (premium game currency).
Two, buy the expansions as a bundle with lots of goodies tossed in at a notable discount [cosmetics, loot boost, etc].
However, all content added by an expansion other than maps- be it cosmetics or new items- are available throughout the entire game, not just within the expansion content.
