My expectations was a barebones playable yet unbalanced, unpolished, and buggy release by early to mid 2015. That's what I expected and that's what I got. So far it's on track to me and the roadmap they released while not containing dates pretty much confirms my assumption that this game will go gold by the end of 2017.
By the end of this year I expect things will be in a much more acceptable (but still flawed, anticheat likely generic if present at all) state for those who didn't have any idea of what the hell they were buying into.
Too long. Stopped reading after "overstated assumption".
It's an overstated assumption that this game is "great" like some people are claiming. Let's be real. At the time being this game is bare bones and barely playable. Those kinds of wild generalizations make me wonder how many people are spamming the boards and for what ulterior motive, you know?
Those were expectattions set by you though... A lot of us donors had expectations based on the promises the studio released. And no one called you fake. Just saying.
The Fact of the matter is, H-Hour is being developed on PC because it makes sense from both a monetary and tech standpoint. Furthermore just because it is on PC does not mean that the people playing don't know what SOCOM feels like.
And before anyone calls me a PC elitist (or whatever). Yes I ONLY play PC because I dont see the point of buying a console with what I can get on a PC and I quite frankly dont like using a controller anymore. But as I stated before I do think consoles have their place and I have nothing wrong with them. They can be hacked just like a PC (albeit, hacking a game that is in its early phases on PC is super easy), the longer the game has been out, with proper support, the less likely you will be to find a hacker.
I DO NOT think that PC players are overshadowing the concept of the game, rather I think that they are bringing much more to it that it could ever have if it were not released on steam. Steam can do wonders for games, just do a little research on how expensive it is for a game studio to put out a game for console, then on top of that how much it costs them to patch the game... let alone the amount of time it takes for a console to approve a patch for the public. Yea sure SOF could have going the route of straight to PS4 but they would have NEVER gotten there.. now we have a chance.
If they ever make it to the PS4, that is where they can focus on a port with controller mechanics in mind.
As for the game being unfinished, well thats insanely obvious, and it's why it is on Early Access rather than a full release. If you haven't been able to figure that out by now you need some mental help. The game feels more like SOCOM than anything else out there right now, even in it's current state.
There should be no replies to this. Great post, get over it guys. We are on steam.
i agree i did also buy a pc for this game to get my fix of what i remember to be hours of great fun and entertainment i will add that i am starting to get a feel of that sometimes playing this new socom but i do feel its all happening to slow and the majority of these changes are coming from people who play pc games in general but socom was always a console game. its really simple in my mind just re make a mix of socom one and socom two because thats where they were almost bang on.we all have our opinions but as to weather it will come rith who knows.
