SONAR (2015)

SONAR (2015)

Cakewalk / Roland VS-20
Not sure if Seth or anyone form Cakewalk can confirm this or advise me further, but I am having issues with a piece of Cakewalk hardware (vs-20) and windows 10.

I am trying to install the widows 8 x64 drivers on my window 10 gaming rig. The installation seems to have failed. Symptoms include installation hanging and that is about it.

USB device connected to computer via USB 2.0 cable on motherboard port. Installing latest drivers from the Cakewalk site.

Using this as a replacement for my main studio set-up so I can get aa few trackis laid down. First time back in studio for 6 months after illness so, sure you can imagine, I am itching to get back to it.

Many thanks in advance.

Peace :V

Roland locks drivers to a specific OS.

For Win10 users - try manually installing the Vista 32//64 drivers through the Device Manager. These weren't signed to a specific OS, but they are functionally the same as the newer 7/8 drivers.

This is what I'm doing for my old Editorl/Roland UA-1000 and a few other employees here with VS-700c/r units.

Here's a guide to get the VS-700 running in W10 with the W8 drivers. It should be functionally the same as with the VS-20. This is slightly different from using the Vista drivers, I'll try to find a guide for that too.

Thanks Seth. Much appreciated.

I have tried running the drivers under compatibility mode (windows 8 x 64 as that seemed the most logical choice) after taking the drivers from this page.

I still have had no luck with leaving the attempted install running for about an hour with no success. The device manager method hasn't worked so well either.

Still, not sure which part of your post is the link as there is not link I can see in your post? Happy new year dude!

Oh, and LOL - Eidorol. That's a name that you don't hear so often!

Okay. Thanks for the help so far. Seems your "Eidorol" comment has dictated another direction. Going to use my Micro br4 instead.
