The most annoying feature in any game ever - You cant quit whenever you want.

I have during 25 or so years of gaming NEVER experienced such an idiotic feature as not being able to quit to the main menu whenever you want. I can't believe it survived from mount and blade, and its worse in this game due to the slow and multiple layers of naval combat. It needs to go.

I just had a naval battle where i couldnt retreat, couldnt get close to the enemy (highest speed setting) because i was sailing against the wind, so i was in complete disbelief over the fact that i eventually would have to terminate the process.

Expecting people to alt-f4 is an approach to developing games that..well i have no words for it and i don't want to offend anyone. You want to give people challenges? Do it through proper balancing, questing and other gameplay related features rather than this...feature.

Quitting in the middle of a battle brings up the problem of what state do you save? As it was before the battle or with battle losses sustained? The game engine does not really support just freezing the action in the middle of a battle.

Personally I just save before every battle with this game anyways because of the frequent bugs.

By the way some games code the quit feature in essentially the same way as alt-F4. They just add a button that does the same thing.

It wouldn't work if you were to quit in the middle of a battle, it would cause many, many save issues...

Then they should at least give people the option to surrender/scuicide whatever just so we can get out of the battle.

Hmm. Wasnt it in M&B that you push tab to flee?

Just save before battles.

Yes you have to press tab to flee if you want to exit the game, but you cant in naval battles if the enemy ship is faster. So you have to chase them down and finish the battle or alt-f4, because there is no way to quit! lol

Not even a "quit and surrender" for the hardcore badasses which would solve the issues with saves.
