Black Mirror I

Similar game wanted
I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the plot of the first part and the whole trilogy and seek for something similar to play, I mean the plot, an atmospere and a gameplay. I know that there is a list of similar games provided by Steam, but would rather like to have some highlights from those who also played Black Mirror.

Never heard of them before, thanks a lot for your reply! I think I'll give it a try.

I Quite agree with the Tunguska Trilogy and the Chronicles of mystery games even though the started becoming hidden object games. I would also Suggest The Lost Crown and the Darkfall Trilogy here on Steam. Along with the Gabriel Knight series (it's what got me started on dark themed adventure games), And then there is Post Mortem, Still Life, and Still Life 2 (not the best of the series though).

I'm loving this game, thanks for the recommendations.
I would add Scratches and Gray Matter, both on Steam.
In the first one, you explore a house as a writer searching for inspiration and you discover an old murder, you have to find if the criminal was an African curse or someone totally mad, the music and story are quite scary.
The second one is more like Black Mirror II and III: between science and supernatural, not gloomy as Black Mirror the first but very intelligent, by the author of Gabriel Knight if I remember!
And you can try Alter Ego: I was really disappointed but you can give it a try, maybe you'll like it?

And thank for the other answers! I really enjoyed the Black Mirror trilogy and I'm always looking for similar games.
Hope the rumours about the fourth are true...

Thank you for the replies, it would take even more than much time to complete all games noticed in this thread :) Boss, I definitely need another vacation... Currently playing "The Darkness Within: In pirsuit of Loath Nolder", so dark, Lovecraftian and more hardcore compared to Black Mirror series.
And by the way, *here comes an offtopic* after recompleting the gloomy first Black Mirror I've started to love it even more than two other parts...

I can recommend you Black Mirror 2 and Black Mirror 3 but also i like Secret Files:Tunguska. There are also another 3 parts of Secret Files.
Hope I could help. :)

I very much enjoy the Sherlock adventure games, I actually came to Black Mirror from those as they seemed to have a similar feel. So I'd recommend them, particularly The Awakened and Jack the Ripper as those share the sort of atmosphere in Black Mirror (personally The Silver Earring is probably my favourite, but it is less similar).

Thak you all for the indications. about some names that you all sad:
- black mirror ive played the all tree + tha last one and fineshed all. I love them. its perfect. fantastic story and, even, gamplay
- Lost Crown ive never played but looks like to much terror for me
- tunguska and Nibiru I think there isnt here at steam
- chronicles of mystery ive never played but loks like very good and already have in my collection
- Darkfall ive tried the first and second one but dindt like it. the gamplay are very poor and complicates the hole game
- Gabriel Knight seems very good
- post morten ive played just the first one but i dont know, maybe the mechanics are stressfull
- Sherlock Holmes games are fantastic, very very very good, but i would not compare to black mirror because, at least for me, are to diferent with a hole sensation and atmosfere far from each other

If you can get your hands on it, NiBiRu (Posel Bohů) is extremely similar to this game – I am unsure whether it was made by the same team or not, but based on its style, music, and atmosphere, I would say it is. You can't get it on Steam, though, and I am unsure whether it even exists in English.

Other than that, Black Mirror II and III are great continuation, though with very different atmospheres, because they are produced by another studio. The soundtrack composer is the same, though. :)

Good suggestions above.
Gemini Rue is another good one for atmosphere.
Broken sword (except chapter 4) as an overall good investigation series.
The Moment of Silence also recommended.

You should try Sanitarium! It's here on steam and it's pretty similar in some cases
