Another thing is that some puzzles in Black Mirror depends on time passing. So sometimes you have push the ingame clock forward to have certain persons or objects appear. That means that you have to travel through different locations.
In youtube walkthroughs the clip creators often cut out some parts where they think they only wandered around without accomplishing anything. But in some cases they also cut out something that doesn't seem to work, but trying it out triggered something to appear without the player to notice the connection. Or they simply let the ingame clock move forward without the watcher noticing this fact. So my suggestion is if something doesn't work the way it works in a youtube walkthrough, try reading this part in a written walkthrough. The puzzles dependencies are often explained better in written walkthroughs. Here's one for Black Miror:
