Problem (Bug?) on the Magnetic Field/Pidgeon Puzzle

Hi,

I'm getting this problem on the first chapter of Deponia, I think its a bug. Is the same problem reported on this thread (http://forum.daedalic.de/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=5998). When I open the magnetic field thing on the Post Office I can't click on anything, it doesn't rotate as said on the instructions. Also there are no pidgeons on the holes where they were supposed to be.

I tried loading an older savefile and playing again up to that point and got the same thing. Already verified the game cache integrity and even re-downloaded everything.

Any ideas on how to solve this, please? Is there any useful information I could provide to help?

I'm having the same problem. Also whenever i use a voucher i see a pidgeon stick it's head out for a second and then nothing.

I contacted the support about this issue and was informed that this is a known problem.

Their suggestion was to download a savefile from this here:
http://www.daedalicsupport.com/en/games/deponia-the-complete-journey/savegames.html

And put it in:
C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\Daedalic Entertainment GmbH\Deponia The Complete Journey\Savegames\

It solved the issue to me, I was able to solve this puzzle but got another similar bug on Chaos on Deponia, in wich I had to download another save and lost some progress...

The guys at Daedlic seem to be aware of this issues and I hope they will patch them.

I've the same problem....so the only way is to change savefile? Or maybe they'll patch soon?

I've the same problem too. I hope they'll patch soon. I don't like use savefile of other players :(

I'm running into the same issue, I'm glad there was a thread about it at least. Whenever I click on the magnetic field Rufus keeps saying "I'd rather not" and nothing happens now for me, while before I'd click on the buttons and no lights would show on the top and nothing would change. Also, am I suppose to see the pigeons in their coops? There coops are empty

Yep, the same happened to me. You are supposed to see the pidgeons, but their houses were empty...
The savegame solved it to me, but I got other similar bugs on Chaos on Deponia, more than once.

I stopped playing until they patch this game. It's very frustrating to be stuck in a puzzle for quite some time just to figure out it's unsolveable due to a gamebreaking bug...

But what if I can't find the AppData folder in any of my profiles

AppData is an invisible folder, you may have to type it in your address bar to see its contents.

Does the Deponia team monitor this chat?

Feels like they're no longer interested in maintaining this title, hopefully they're still together. I bought the game without knowing about the issues, and I'm disappointed. I looked at the savegames you mentioned lucasdgc, but in going through them I ran into some other puzzle spoilers while still not reaching the pigeon one (just from the titles and images). This is disappointing really disappointing. First the harpoon bug (no reticle visible) and now the pigeon's and you also reported another one further in the game... Makes me feel like this game might be abandoned.

If that's the case I feel that the Deponia team should stop accepting money for it. It's not playable without cheating (yes using savegames is cheating). And if this is not abandoned, maybe fix the bugs? Seems like you contacted them back in January and they still have this issue in October.
