Can you recommend a point & click adventure game similar to Deponia?
And by that I mean a comedic game with a good story and some serious moments.

I'm not talking about something like Monkey Island or Day of the Tentacle. Those are pure comedies from the beginning to the end, where the "story" is only there to serve the comedy. And I'm not talking about serious games with some silly moments like Gabriel Knight either.

damn, fam, nice list. Although some of them fit more in the "serious games with some silly moments" category, thanks.

I would recommend Beneath A Steel Sky. It does tend more towards the serious side, but the comedic aspect of it continues throughout the game, too.

It can be had for free thanks to the kindness of the developers, Revolution Software. It's a bit older, so it will require some kind of compatibility software to get it to run. Dosbox would probably work, but ScummVM was developed specifically to work with old point-and-click adventures. Plus the ScummVM website has a download link (completely legal) for Beneath A Steel Sky.

Grim Fandango. Hands-down, a serious game with a downright amazing plot and a complete gateway drug for somebody who hasn't played a proper point-and-click before. The lore and story behind the game are also amazing. The Remastered version on Steam is a great retouching with uncompressed studio-audio and slightly bumped up visuals, plus perfect compatibility. The cutscenes are still fairly low-res, sadly, and backgrounds would have been too expensive to recreate. That one's on Steam for $15, with a Soundtrack DLC and free developer commentary and a making-of series.

Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis is also a great find, that one's on GOG.

Deponia doomsday, the final game (released a few months ago)
The Edna and Harvey games. The first is kind of dated compared to Daedalic's other games, but Harvey's New Eyes was great.
