Graphics option to remove the grey filter?

Surely I'm not the only one that is taking notice of the odd and headache inducing grey tint of the daytime graphics.
First I thought it was just my imagination but when the day/night cycle works toward night time, there is a brief period where the view is free of the greyness.

Could we ask for additional graphics options to turn this off and adjust things?
Or the very least to have a toggle option to turn this off?
