Under Par Golf Architect

Looks like an update of Sim Golf: Which is AMAZING!
One of the biggest "holes" in the Steam store and my personal game game collection is a good modern take on Sim Golf, which is still by far the best game of its kind ever to come out.

This looks like it is going for a similar vibe, which is awesome.

My personal wishlist would be something like the following:

A little more seriousness/depth on the financial management side.
The different tilesets for different parts of the world is a must. Scotland/Temperate/Jungle/Desert Probably could think of a few others.
Playing your own course is nice, but doesn't need to be a main gameplay focus.
A little less focus on totchkies might be nice.

Depending on the explicitness of the timescale it might be cool to have a "through the ages" feel. Where at first there are no carts and the clubs suck, and through the decades the clubs get better courses need to get longer, and carts are expected etc.

Completely agree with you, i still play Sim golf as today, and i truly think of just the UX and UI was up to modern time, the game would have no competitors out there!

What we will have hard time to achieve for sure is the Sim part, that in Sim golf is super complex and branched out.

As for the timescale i don't have any official information right now, but we have done some research and we have found cool stuff like this:

Haha, those remind me of some programs my grandfather had from when he played Division 1 college hockey in the US in the late 40s. They were still not 100% settled on the rules, so there was a lot of slightly different rule sets at each different opponent arena. The program would lay out the particular local rules in addition to having advertisements and rosters.

Also there would frequently be fans on the ice in brawls with players, sometimes dozens of them. Said he broke his nose like 5-6 times a year. He has pictures of those crazy brawls too.

No Plexiglas above the boards of course, just chicken-wire. Only straight sticks and no masks even for goalies because people couldn't lift it with power as much and had to kind of chip at it more.

Crazy stuff.

Include workshop support, and we can have the golf equivalent of Blood Bowl in honor of OP grandpa.
