Yeah I was shocked when I heard it. It's strange because 3 and 4 are only 3 years apart.

Yet the other games were only about 1 year apart. It's not that strange.

The main reason why Sam sounds like a 16-year old teenage girl is because Humongous was bought by Atari, so they hired new actors.
atari... why...

So, Sam got a new voice actor. Hrm...

Yeah it sounds god awful, the animations are also way inferior and don't match the dialog being spoken... the colouration and shading of the graphics is better though (I assume the game runs in a 16bit [thousands of colours] display mode where as previous games run in a 8bit [256 colours] display mode)

So yeah, uninstalled the game, can't stand it :/

First time I played this sequel, I was so sad to hear the new voice. I'm glad Atari sold Humongous Entertainment, they did not deserve to touch such an awesome company

This made me sad too. :( I always liked Sam's voice, but not this time.

When a character is recast, the new actor should at least try to make their voice sound similar to the previous VA's voice. But Elisha Ferguson (yes, that's the name of Sam's VA in this game) wasn't faithful to the community. Or rather, Atari wasn't. If only Humongous Entertainment had stayed independent. Maybe they'd still be making games today.
