So...they really not going to fix this?
Its been 5 years. How is it every other game from the humongous entertainment library dating back to '92 is able to run better than a game from 2004?
I really doubt it would be that hard for someone to make an official fix.

the store page would show many more reviews if it didn't require 5 minutes worth of failures before being able to write a review.
It's really a sad day when a guy has to rant about pajama sam of all things.

this game runs on a different engine, which was buggy even back when it came out. the only reason the other games run so well on new hardware is because of the community efforts put into the ScummVM project. The company who owns the HE games now doesn't seem to have an intention of putting any work into modern compatibility for these games, so outside of ScummVM or a similar project deciding to support this engine, I wouldn't expect things to change anytime soon

I created a virtual machine running Windows XP, that worked for me. But indeed not the most convienent way to play a game

I also have a mac and I'm also not able to download it... Quite disappointing as I would like to show my little niece the games I used to play

Finally figured out how to fix this! Just need to plug in either a USB CD drive or install a virtual one, I downloaded one here:

Hope this works for everyone!

THIS worked for me.
Plugged in my USB CD/DVD drive and it started up with zero issues.
Kind of absurd that this isn't fixed though.

unfortunately did not work. I tried installing it and it failed. The program said it was uninstalled wrongly and told me to reinstall it. but it kept giving me the same error. rip. I had to plug in my USB CB drive and it only works then.

I was able to get mine working by mounting any .iso file using Windows 10 file explorer, and then starting the game. The game instantly saw the drive labeled "DVD Drive" and started right up. However, it did lock up my screen when I tried to Alt+Tab out.
