by the time the horror started to reveal itself any potential fear i would've felt was replaced with frustration and boredom, because this game's idea of scaling difficulty is just making everything take more time. no time pressure, no threats, you're just gonna be going to the power menu and squinting to read text a lot more in the latter half of the game.

interesting at first but its just tedious as time goes on. the more you go on the less playable it is due to the screen being so distorted. the power management is cool at first until i realized it doesnt really do much and it just gets more annoying as the game goes. i get it was supposed to induce stress but it just ends up as a chore. game is just iron lung but not scary and fully in space

It is hardly a horror game. It has good atmosphere, visuals and concept. It's also fun for the first 10-15 minutes out of the ~ 60 min gameplay. After that it gets really boring and repetative, literally nothing interesting happens. The Ending isn't bad, as many people said already — mid and too fast.

The game needs another major update adding like the amount of content of 50% of existing one and it should include new gameplay mechanics for later missions. If there's none — there's no point buying the game even for the small price it has atm, unless you want to support the creator, of course. To make it clear, I'm definetely not refunding, because I don't want to ♥♥♥♥ up Miziziziz.

[SPOILERS AHEAD: My feedback to creator]

As I said in my opinion you nailed the atmosphere and visuals, but that's about it. What I would like to see personally as a player:
-New gamechanging gameplay mechanics starting around ission 3
-More cool random events like the meteorite crash
For example you get a message that your life support switched off by itself and you have to switch it back on quickly, adding up to the damaged electronics. Maybe you see some hallucinations, looking beneath in the flickering light. Or you hear some sort of thing crawlig inside, but then it just goes silent. Etc. Hope you get my points
-Would be amazing to have a visible shaking/vibration effect during thruster turns, cause just the sound doesn't feel enough
-Just overall more unique interactions though both sensors would also work great
-Revamp the ending a bit.

I understand that oversaturation of content also isn't really good and it can affect the atmosphere you built already, but please consider it.

3,99€ for this roughly 1-hour-game would be fine if the experience wasn't so dull.

You do repetitive, tedious tasks for a few short moments of interesting events. The meager amount of text in this game is okay-ish written, but largely irrelevant. The atmosphere is good, but ultimately, the game does not offer enough to make it worth the money.
The only reason I'm not refunding it is that I kinda expected that, but wanted to experience it myself anyway so I have to blame myself.

First I want to say I love a lot of the ideas and concepts of this game. I really appreciate the amount of research put in to make the radio sounds as realistic as possible. Also, the scares in this game really did get me. Its extremely atmospheric and it really makes you feel lost in space. It did feel very similar to Iron Lung.

However, I have to say I think the "game play" parts are pretty rough and frustrating. The switching between different consoles and having to turn things on in off I feel like could've been implemented better. It was extremely clunky and very frustrating towards the end of the game.

I like the dev, that's why I bought the game day #1. However, the game is extremely short, and the ending is lackluster. In fact I didn't even know the game had ended until i was looking up a guide to see if I was just stuck.

Has good potential, but needs something more.

If the dev adds more of an ending or more to do than the same exact thing throughout the entire game I could recommend it. The visuals and premise are very neat. But the game play loop and system serves no purpose. There really isn't a need to be quick or turn off systems like I thought there would be. And each mission you lose a power bar, but all it really does is slow down the game not make it more stressful, like power is going to fail etc.

I finished in under 60 minutes and spent 20 or so seeing if I could get another ending.

Interesting concept and aesthetic, but 90% of the gameplay is tedious busywork between a tiny amount of narrative content.

Being trapped in a decaying spacecraft is a great concept, but in practice it's more boring and annoying than scary. The scope of the game is intentionally limited, but it fails to explore the potential of what little you can do: you can look around the capsule but it's not used at all; you can listen to radio signals from planets but you never hear anything really creepy; you can divert power from your life support so I assumed at some point I'd have to do that to accomplish some urgent task, but there's never a reason to - it just ends the game early and then you have to redo a load of tedious busywork.

Not even worth the low price.

Navigate Menus: The Game

Voyager-19 is a sci-fi horror game almost identical in gameplay to Iron Lung. You are a spacer dispatched to take picture and record audio from a bunch of planets. Your ship is a coffin, you're hooked up to a medusa of tubes, and the only thing you can do is interact with a minimalist screen. The twist is each of your systems requires power and space radiation causes your ship to decay over time, meaning your screen is corrupted and you lose a power cell each time you complete an objective.

So here's how this works: You open your navigation screen and go to a planet on the map. You power on your radio and record 5 seconds. You power on your camera and take a photo. If its not centered, you rotate the ship and take another photo. If it's not in the light, you open the navigation screen, move to the other side of the planet and rotate until you get a good photo. Then you repeat this 3-4 times per sector before you hibernate and suffer systems corruption.

My big problem with Voyager-19 is that there's no tension here. At one point you find a derelict that gives you some foreshadowing (but only about 50 words of it per objective completed) but that's it. You also find some weird looking planets, but that's it. The radio doesn't amount to anything. There's no build up to the audio (despite that this is where the raising of tension could be most effective) and the most you get is planets with heart beats, but those don't correspond to danger. There's not enough lore and buildup here. They made a cosmic horror but didn't know how to introduce it, foreshadow it, or make it feel present.

The power isn't really a concern. The waning power supply make it seem like you'll need to disable life support at some point and then then the game ends before you get to that point. That's what I mean by the lack of tension; the expectation that things *will* happen is there but Voyager-19 never delivers.

There's a red herring for hitting an asteroid but even as someone that LOVES space horror, there's nothing to latch onto here but a big reveal at the end. And the question is, did we really need 40 minutes of slow buildup for a reveal that amounts to a 1-minute slideshow? And by the way, if you do buy this game avoid scrolling down on its steam page because the community screenshots are all spoilers for the final minute of the game.

Really... not fun. If you wan to see this idea done well play either Iron Lung or Duskers.

Very short, a few good jumpscares, but overall might be better for you to watch then to play. The novelty of the controls really wears off later in the game and it becomes frustratingly tedious as you spend most of your time switching power between the camera and the thrusters because the planet is "not in light".

Also without spoiling too many specifics, the ending was really bad. Basically just a glorified loud noise and the exact same ending as Iron Lung. As a huge space nerd I really wanted to like this game and I respect the work the devs put in to make it a unique experience, but I just can't bring myself to like it enough to recommend playing.

It took some risks aesthetically and I like that. The story is simple and one-note, but the very limited sensory data is a whole vibe. The visual effects are neat. The sound effects are basically sufficient.

I can't recommend this game, though. It wants you to tap arrow keys dozens of times to complete repetitive tasks and get repetitive strain injuries. Maybe the game would be ten minutes if you had mouse controls or put relevant things on the same menu screen, but maybe that would be fine? I understand that the painful and inaccessible menu navigation is an aesthetic choice and it's one that I can't cosign.
