Test Drive Unlimited 1 is also a hella fun game on PC with a HUGE Open world and dozens of cars, great for low spec machines.
Except LA Rush is not open world, it was a great experience, one of the great racing games from a company I can't remember the name (the one which made Cross Racing Championship). Better physics than SRS.
I haven't played that much SRS because of its awful wheel deadzone, I've played with my keyboard, but I got bored after some hours (that's a miracle I've played hours to a racing game without a wheel). It's a racing game, it needs a wheel! I remember the physics were good, still arcadey, but the best in this type of underground races (before LA Rush came out), better than NFSU2 (don't get me wrong, NFSU2 is still my favorite NFS and one of my favorite arcade racing titles). And its open world was amazing, with day and night, and diversity.
Test Drive unlimited titles may be a bit difficult to run on modern systems (it seems possible though). The Crew was the spiritual successor of the series, from the same developers. It is good, physics are good, but unlocking cars is a long process (in order to encourage you to buy credit with you well earned real money). The Crew2 seems to be a downgrade from the first game.
TDU Solar Crown is on its way, don't know what to think about it. Gameplay videos show a lot of popping and Hong Kong is a lot smaller than HAwai and Ibiza.
Forza Horizon 4 and 5 may be interesting.
I must say that TDU an Forza Horizon are a bit far from the Underground spirit of SRS,LA Rush and NFSU though.
