Best cars [IMO]
Best Starter Cars:steamthumbsup:

I can't remember all the specs atm, but I'll give a quick rundown for now.

1. 2002 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS.(GD8) Probably the best option for a starter car as it's AWD layout provides quick acceleration and great handling. Fully maxed out, it makes around 600hp-800hp(can't remember exact hp numbers so this is just a estimate) and tops out at 180mph. This car can get you through the majority of the game just off by performance, but earning skill points can be a little tricky in AWD cars unless you're fairly good at drifting AWD.

2. 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T(2G). Best FWD car in the game. Overall handling can be kinda sketchy on high hp numbers as high hp levels on FWD platforms usually leads to heavy under steer and lots of wheel spin. When maxed out, it makes around 600hp-650hp and tops out at 172mph. Speaking from experience on my first play through, I was able to reach the Street Revolution Crew when I began to experience difficulty with the eclipse's performance(Mostly because I had drag tires installed LOL), but you might even make it to the Lightspeed crew if you're good enough. It's a decent point scorer with E-Brake slides and feint maneuvers but wheelspin will bog you down a bit.

3. 1985 Toyota Trueno (AE86). Can be won from the Philadelphia Iron man challenge before the staring a new career or after you get your first car. Undeniably one of the best drift cars in SRS, but takes a bit of skill to control it properly. Maxed out, it will make around 300hp-350hp(Yes that's pretty low, probably the lowest of all the cars.), but has a great top speed of 179mph. You can rack up a ton of respect points in this car, which makes it ideal for respect challenges and maxing out all crew race series to 3000pts. Only downside to the AE86 is the acceleration(maybe) and overall stability in corners, so have some skill on tap.

Best Cars Overall:steamthumbsup:

1. Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34). Basically the most OP car in the game. Base model can achieve over 1000bhp when maxed and a top spead of around 220mph. It's a complete beast on the straights and launch. Only issue is probably the handling at high speeds. Best car overall

2. Subaru Impreza(Higher end models like the STI & S202). Basically the same as the RS in some aspects but a little more "oomph" in power. top speed is around 180mph but still stable enough to control easily. Excellent for the latter half of the game, possibly overall.

3. Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII & VIII (CT9A). Has great acceleration and cornering on par with the Subaru, but tops out at 160mph-165mph. The VII can be won from the LA Time trial in arcade mode. Great for the latter half of the game, but GT-Rs, Imprezas and maybe RX-7s are a considerable thereat depending on the circumstance.

4. Toyota Supra (JZA80). The most stable FR car in the game. Fully built, it makes about 800+hp and has a top speed similar to the Impreza's. Another good drift car, perfect for racing up on respect. However, keep an eye on those AWDs on towards the end of the campaign.

5. Mazda RX7 (FD3S). Another worthy drift car and second fastest car in the game, topping out around 198mph-201mph depending on what trim level you max out. Really great with drifting, but has a major tenancy to spin out if the rear end kicks out too much. Ideal for respect challenges and maxing out the crew respect points. Not really a beginner's car due to the handling, but it's possible to beat the career mode with it.

Everything else is basically "meh..."

Stay away from the MR-2, 350Z and IS300 as their trash money-pits no matter how well you upgrade them:steamsad:.

Yeah, top speed ain't the strong point of evos, it's more so acceleration and cornering. That would do well in tracks with more turns.

Necropost but RX8 is easier to control if you NA Tune the car honestly. Weird ik

but Top speed wise it's still better than the Evo

I wouldn't find it weird. Infact it makes sense since NA has a much more linear power curve.

I have a question. Which skyline is the best after maxing it out? And how do I unlock skyline gtr 1999 and skyline gtr m-spec nur. I've defated the street revolution guys but those two are still locked.

I haven't played this in a long time. If I remember correctly it was all versions of the GT-R. Oddly enough, I remember the base GT-R having a higher redline.

Also did you max out the respect points in those series?

turns out I'm a dummy and to unlock basic gtr you need to beat VF crew which is easier than beating the street revolution, but I was so persistent on beating street revolution first that I didn't notice.
And now with gtr beating lightspeed is super easy. :P
