the only way you can earn money from this is if someone with more money then common sense decide to buy your bananas.

you probably have a better chance in making money from trading cards , at least these things can craft badges.

none of it is real.

you could make money out of this for the first days, but I can't seem to sell my bananas anymore.
it feels like now everyone wants to sell and nobody wants to buy.
unless you get an extremely rare banana to sell, it seems hard to make more than a few cents.
though, you can just launch the game sometimes for 5 seconds and get some bananas and see if they are sellable.
the basic bananas are unsellable, so don't even try, you won't sell them.

only bout a third of the "players" are real. the other 2 thirds are bots to farm bananas. this has been confirmed.
so the market is getting flooded with worthless banana images.
the bananas that are sold for more than 3 cents dont drop anymore. they were given to the devs and their friends manually to sell em and cash out big.
if there is ANY dropable banas worth more than 3 cents left in the game, the amount of farming bots will drop that value to 3 cents by flooding the market.
so nothing you can get will be bought.
the only way to get money is by buying rare bananas and trying to sell them for more. but that way you already lose. because u waste money with the risk of not making any profit because nobody buys it off u for more than u paid.

only works if there is a bigger idiot that buys it for more than you paid. if there isnt then you just waste big amounts of money.
it is basically gambling.

The "scam" is that the devs can generate the rare items that don't drop anymore and sell them if they wanted, which there is no evidence of them doing and literally any dev of any game that is put on steam with drops can also do that.

The only people being "scammed" are the ones buying meme items believing they will go up. Which is, again, literally what games like CS/Dota/Tf2/and more do. Making dumb financial decisions doesn't automatically equal a scam.

There has been evidence for the owner generating items, he privated everything afterwards and possibly still do it in another way.

also currently, devs have 3k+ in value inside their inventory :)

also important to note for anyone hoping to get rich:
you only get steam wallet funds through the community market transaction. no actual money.
wallet funds can NOT be paid out to your credit card. it can only be used to buy games/items on steam.
there is the way of buying cs:go skins with it and selling them via shady 3rd party sites where you can get bitcoin etc for those and turn that into real money.
but thats even riskier and shadier than the dev's ponzi scheme.
