Does playing/clicking even matter for item drops?

So far I realised I get stuff if I simply open the game around every 3hrs. I assume clicking doesn't matter or not?

clicing is just so the game notice that u r doin something to get some bananas and not leaving your pc on 24h. 1clic should be enough every 3h.

I was getting the default banana till I did too many clicks and got scrapnana (its common but still better than default tho)
