Automated Crew issues...
Doing Automated Service Craft contract which requires CyO Model 1, up to 4 crew max.

The problem is even Standard Operation mission gets 0 auto-score. (Not sure yet about manual score, never tried to pass missions manually before, but Standard Operations has a minimum of 1 score if runs manually).

Anyone used automated crew with any success?

Another comtract, this time 5 Cyo Model 1 crew... Again 0 score for Standard Operations. Funny thing is that I get 4 times better ERS than SOP.

Seems like Cyo crew is a no-go. I don't like an idea to manually perform every SOP mission for every design. Tried that, and it looks like Cyo crew stuck on patrol route every time.

Minimum crewing doesn't work. They can all do anything they need to, but there's still the minimum amount you need in each major area (engineering, bridge, what have you). I had the same thing happen the first time or two I tried to build for an automated ship contract, but I made sure I had enough to cover my bases and it's worked like a charm since then. Since you don't actually make any money for coming in under budget, it's not really worth skimping. Just finished up this auto explorer for some guys named Weyland? I'm sure they're fine tho, probably nothing to worry about.

But you cannot have more crew as it's limited there as well. In this particular instance it seems that AI-crew is completely malfunctioning.

What I mean is that say you have 4 bots, but your equipment requires 3 pilots and 3 technicians. You're going to fail every time on SOPs because while the bots can be anything they need to be, they can only be one thing in one place at a time. So in that case, you'd either need 6 bots or less crew-intensive equipment (the Orion vs the Octergol, for example). That's if it's designer error like mine were, tho. If it's a bug, then that's a new one by me but not altogether unexpected lol

I may agree about need in 6 bots, but the design requirements do not allow to have more than 4. Another design allowed to have 5, but still the same exactly problem.

Dunno then. I just made another one with 4 bots just fine lol good luck figuring it out, sorry I wasn't more help

It was fine on auto-calc??

Yup. Orion Engine and Small bridge on a Yanmori, I love that ship. Put two bots on each level and got my 20/1/8/10 like usual. I always keep my engineering and bridge complexes discrete and as nearby as possible, so radio, navigation, sensors, and computer core are all directly connected to the bridge itself to save maintenance time. Fuel and power generation are directly connected to the engine room. I also needed some thrusters, a hangar bay, and two shield generators, so what I couldn't keep compact, I connected with corridors to make movement easier.

It's a tough design, but doable.

Use the Little Bug hull.
On the B1 (Lower) Deck, and starting from the rear and working forward:
Fission Forward Engine
Small Fusion Generator
2 Compact Fuel Tanks (mounted Port and Starboard on either side of the Engine/Generator, and as far "out" against the Hull as they will go).
2 CyOA, 1 Port, 1 Starboard, mounted just forward of the 2 Compact Fuel Tanks.
A Cooling, a Lift, and a Power Connection side-by-side, Port-to-Starboard.
2 Medium Docking Clamps
An EEV and an Armory, mounted as far out against the Hull as possible
A Small Shield as far Forward and Center as you can go.

On Deck B2 (Upper):
2 Small Nuclear Generators
2 Medium Cooling Units
1 Small Cargo Hold right where the "waist" of the Little Bug constricts down; you'll need 2 Small Bays Doors, 1 Port and 1 Starbboard.

You should be able to squeeze all that in BEHIND the Coolant/Lift/Power Connections

Moving Forward from there, you put your Computer (I used the KDO 9000) and 1 CyOA connected to the Computer
Forward from the Computer, place you Small Bridge along the centerline of the Little Bug, snugged all the way forward as it will go.
Put your last CyOA, at least 1 EEV, and the last Small Shield on the sides of the Small Bridge.

Use the necessary Hatches and Corridor Sections to string it all together, Save, and Test it in Crew Management. I got a 49/30-60/40-39/6.
