Hi anyone had any problems with this not even starting . I've been through all the support fixes and all I get is a black screen and can't do anything else other than a hard reset . Cheers

However I do not have any custom video codecs installed to my machine (recent OS re-installation).

I used the configuration utility before starting the game. Have not encountered any issues so far.

I think you need to use the config at startup or it has issue's detecting modern graphics cards.

Instead of just saying you've sorted it, how about posting your Fix as well? Some of us can't read minds and would really benfit from this.

Updated the video card driver and then used the configuration utility again,
like 2 other people suggested! I can't read minds as well, but, could read the other posts !

I am having the black screen on game startup as well... Having to use Task Manager to stop the program and get back to my regular screens. However I am using Windows 8.1 (64 bit). I'll try to jockey with the config more to see if I can get things to run properly. I love the X-Com franchise and would love the chance to play this game.
