Broken Geoscape on AMD.
I have the GOG version and I have an issue where the geoscape's timers are busted, it's not lag because I can rotate the globe at full speed but A: the game takes way too long to update the current time and B: the helicopter moves way too slow.

This means it takes forever to start any missions after the tutorial. (And the actual battles work fine.)

Anyone got any advice? Compatability modes/locking the FPS/Vsync help but it's still unplayably slow.

I managed to solve it with some trial and error, I saw claims it was FPS related but my graphics card limiter(AMD Radeon) wouldn't limit Aftermath for some reason. (I could set the setting but it would fail to actually limit it.)

However Bandicam (A free recording software) comes with a limiter and sure enough, it works, locking the game to 60 FPS fixes the Geoscape Issue. (I've updated the PC gaming wiki page for Aftermath with the fix.)

So for anyone else with this issue, you have to (via some sort of external limiter) limit the FPS to 60.

Thanks a lot !
Was struggling with this issue (AMD+FPS limiting).
Confirmed, works like a charm.

I have the same issue, I find it funny that any updates AMD releases for graphics software doesnt do anything useful loool. Bandicam ftw

It's weird, but in order for the game to stop giving out 1224 FPS, I blocked RadeonChill at 60 frames and then opened the performance monitor. It suddenly helped! The driver realized that the FPS was too high and blocked them at 60 and the game started normally!
