How to open Cheat console?

I tried inserting the KEY ''cheats'' BOOL TRUE
into the config.cfg file and then pressing Shift + ~ on the geosphere, during the missions and on the main menu screen. It doesn't work, the console doesn't show up and I can't enter the cheats.

What am I doing wrong? I have seen previous threads on the internet and some people get this exact problem as I do: (https://steamcommunity.com/app/292160/discussions/0/1743343017634815063/)

Can someone please explain how o do it or why the console is not showing up for me?

Ok I managed to find a solution. The reason why Shift + ~ doesn't work for me is because my Windows language is set to English (United Kingdom). To open the console you need to press Shift + @ .

English (United States) = Shift + ~
English (United Kingdom) = Shift + @

To close the console during the mission click on the console and it will be selected in a white box and then enable the command again and It will disappear. Hope this helps for people in the future.
