All offices say they are designed for a minimum of 4 people and go up to 18 for some and 21 for others. Even if you don't have a ton of people you could always host a public one. You may run into some idiots, just like any game, but overall I've had way more positive experiences than negative.

Would this game be good with only 5 people

From my experience more is better except where there is too many but I would say it could be fun in only 5 people but the game itself doesnt provide that much content to make it fun for 5 players if they are playing it serious but if you loosen up and dont try to be serious I can imagine you will have a blast. In the end it comes to what your group is like

5 players is enough for us, I set the slacker difficulty to like 15% or something, so if slacker can make it to final 2, they win
This game I feel like you'd want at least 8 or more people so games aren't over right away? It can be pretty easy to pinpoint the slackers if they slip up so having a big lobby so there's more than just 2 slackers can make things more interesting IMO.

That said, I only ever play with randoms anyway cus none of my friends care for social deduction games and ofc there's always the one idiot or few every so often, but I find the bigger lobbies to be a lot more fun than the smaller ones.
