Select A Responder overlay will not load

After dying, I was returned to the main menu screen where the overlay for Select A Responder should appear; I only have the loading symbol. I am able to access the options menu by pressing the 'esc' key but there isn't any options of use from what I've seen, otherwise i am unable to interact with anything on the main menu screen.

I have verified files, and performed and uninstall/reinstall but the issue remains.

Did you ever find a solution for this? I have had this happen once or twice and a reset of the game fixed it. This time it is not helping. I have contacted support but who knows.

I have same issue--stuck on main screen without it loading in character. Just infinite loading and no screen items selected at all (it's a dimmed screen with nothing select able).

STILL CURRENT PROBLEM. I will have to fully reinstall everything, make sure all data is removed and start again. NOT FUN REDOWNLOADING GIGABYTES OF DATA.

I have tried: Verifying game files, reinstalling game, I almost even reinstalled my operating system in an attempt to solve this bug, until I came into this thread. Now I can relax and not worry about it until the devs solve the problem. Good luck folks, hope a fix comes soon.

Having this issue as well, pissing me off cause I genuinely want to like and enjoy what's in NMRIH2 but the sketchy layoffs behind torn banner and this games rather slow and truthfully pointless updates is making me lose hope in the project severely

hey guys i found a fix apparently; have yet to try it but will when i get home.


"Workaround from the Discord which apparently helped some of us:

Turn off cloud saves for NMRiH2 in Steam before doing next steps

Head to C:\Users%your username%\AppData\Local and delete the NMRiH2 folder. This deletes the game's settings config and acts as a factory reset

Launch the game.

Hints from players:

IT WILL NOT RESET YOUR CHARACTER LEVEL/ACCOUNT LEVEL

If you get this bug, while your character is still alive. It will not delete your character. So it's a win win fix."

oh dude, try again, it did that to me first time.

make sure your keeping your cloud save off until it loads in the new responder. The 2nd time i did it it asked me which file to load: local or steam cloud, use local as the steam cloud one is the corrupted save

Hotfix 0.2.2 has also addressed this issue.
