Unable to modify certain settings

For some reason i am unable to toggle any settings that use a clickable box such as post processing effects in graphics, or toggle crouch in gameplay. other settings that simply involve clicking a left or right arrow update properly and save properly. for the post processing i was able to figure out a work-around by manually editing the games GameUserSettings file at

C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Local\NMRiH2\Saved\Config\Windows

though i cant find a workaround for any other options.

I also made sure both the appdata NMRiH2 and the install location were not marked as read only
