Is the early extraction mechanic working properly?
So, if you get supplies and hit one of the extract blinkers early you don't get credit or character XP. If you press K and left click the you lose your character but still get partial credit and account XP for your gathered supplies? Am I mistaken about something? The way the update is worded in the announcement for the free weekend makes it sound like it's supposed to be backwards. It would make more sense giving you XP for extracting.

Your character survives but doesn't gain any account credits; which is good if your character is level 30+ and they have a skill build.

Dying on Missions, regardless if it was a self sacrifice kills,
Grants you account creds, but you lose the character.

The self sacrifice is mostly a kindness to the people you're playing with in the event of infection; as your infected responder is a runner and kinda dangerous.

Sometimes its just batter to abandon a mission with the few people you have left.
What little credits you get from dying can't really replace a responder with a really good perk build. Even when the character is pretty fresh.

If the missions going so badly that you don't have enough people to complete it; just dip.
It still doesn't make sense. I get trying to save your high level characters or getting out before you turn on your teammates but it shouldn't even be a choice any other way. You should get partial credit for surviving and lose everything if you die. There shouldn't be a situation where I decide to just KMS because my survivor is level 1 and I want to make meta progression. Surviving should be the go-to every time.
"Extract with Supplies to earn Credits that can be spent on perks and starting equipment.

If a match becomes too dire to finish, early extraction opens up to offer another way out."

This is the way it's worded in the post announcing the free weekend. It really seems like it's not supposed to work the way it does right now.

More specifically, death rewards account credits for your contributions by picking up supplies that goes into the teams shared supply. I don't know the exact math for it buy you recive credits based on your contribution; more if you manage to survive.
I means that the responders death was atleast part of a contribution to winning in some way.

Early Extraction is basically "the mission failed, focus on your own survival",
And it would be really silly to still reward you for failure.

It might just be worded poorly but that the basics of the mechanic.

Why wouldn't you be rewarded for escaping alive and with supplies? How would HQ even claim the supplies you died with? Dying a noble death isn't winning. This whole mechanic is totally backwards. Dying is supposed to be losing.

You're not technically escaping alive with supplies in "early extraction"
You're using a survival bunker to hide until you're rescued.

Any supplies that were gathered on the mission are basically lost.
The main criteria for early extraction to even be avalible is that only 3 players are left alive.
In 99% of cases that usually means the mission is dead. None of the blue supplies that people picked up along the way are salvaged or extracted because "everyone perished or had to escape on their own".

I think you might missing the point of it;
Its a Team game, you're rewarded for team play.
If you happen to die over the course of team play, the game will still reward you and your next survivor.

Death isn't Losing, its what happens to half the people in the lobby over the course of the mission. As long as the team survives long enough to sucessfully finish the mission and extract. Its treated as a victory dispite the loss of the character.

Where as having to escape because of the team suffering mass casualties isn't treated as completing the mission and so you're not rewarded to for failing; you just get to survive and get some expereince to make the next run easier.

Also again.

The supply items you pick up are shard between all survivors,
you're not "dying with them" its being collected and shared between everyone in a match.
It calculates how much you'd get at the time of death and rewards you with some for your efforts.
It has to be this way because even giving 1% of rewards for quitting on a mission will still add up, Most people will just find it easier to sit back do nothing then wait for the early extract then finish a round, Even if that route would take signific more time it requires less effort.

But you don't get experience if you survive. That's the problem. That's what I'm saying. We aren't Vikings, the guy at HQ isn't going to punish us for not dying in glorious battle.

If your teammates die they should drop the all the supplies they collected for someone else to reclaim. If everyone dies and nobody is able to extract with the supplies than nobody should get anything. The last survivor should have to choose to take all the supplies he can grab and extract early for the team. That's the entire point of these extraction machanics. If there aren't early extraction mechanics then it would make sense for you to get partial credit even if you die but there is extraction mechanics. Punishing you for using it defies the entire point.

I like the game, I bought it because I had fun during the free weekend. I can tell you like it too but that doesn't have to mean you need to justify everything. The devs can make mistakes and this mechanic cannot *cannot* be working as intended. You dont need to try to defend it. I hope that I'm right and it gets changed in a future update.
