No More Room in Hell 2

This game worth getting now or?
Should I get the game or wait till they add the new map?

I believe this game is a great look at what's to come but it's definitely lacking in the content department. It also needs a little something extra in terms of replayability because once you've learned to master the game, it can start to feel a bit repetitive since there's not a lot of RNG in terms of how the map/objectives operate. However, the gun play feels great, the atmosphere is great, and when the odds start to shift and you find yourself surrounded and your friends overwhelmed, that's when the game really shines. There's also a high skill ceiling for solo players who choose to tackle objectives alone (you can't que solo but you can choose to go your own way).

So is it worth it? Yes and no. I do believe it's a bit expensive in it's current state for what's currently there, but it is pretty fun. If you've ever played Payday, it's a bit like that except on a much larger map and instead of looting money, you're looting supplies. There's an update being pushed tomorrow so I don't know if it will clean up some of the bugs that are currently there, but even still, a majority of them aren't too difficult to manage. So maybe wait for further updates or a sale but even in its current state, I still believe this is a pretty solid starting point for what could eventually end up being an awesome game.

In this state, no. Wait until it gets finished or it gets better (unless it gets cancelled)
Do not buy it now, 61 players was the 24 hour peak today. 34 currently playing as I type this.

Do not, for any reason, buy it now. They do not deserve your money.
Wait until a massive update hits and the playercount returns to 1k minimum. You'll be waiting in the queue for a long time otherwise.

This is one of those games that I expect the studio will be pulling the plug. It is a live-service game which means that once they shut down the servers it's going to be unplayable.
Oh and it's actually not an early access title, because the state the game is in right now is something the customers should've never seen. In the developer community they usually call these versions alpha.

Don't give them money. My guess is they released this game because they wanted to cash in with minimal effort or to offload the cost of development to the consumer. In any case only a small fraction of the player base actually liked what they were given here..

+ close threads when valid criticism is brought up and then label them as "disrespect towards developers"

Yes, It is an early access title. The game is sold in early access, It says so on the store page. They actually stated the reason as to why they released the game into early access. "We released in Early Access because this was the best phase of our production to start getting feedback during ongoing development, in order to meaningfully sculpt the core of the game with you as fans, rather than pretend to engage in that process by releasing a nearly completed and 'sealed' product." Wait for the new map. The game is very fun, but there is not enough content currently to justify the price. Either wait for the new map, codename:town, or wait for them to establish the gameplay loop, (character customization, attachments, load outs, stuff like that).

You've no idea what you're waddling about because you actually believe their statements on the matter at hand. They sold you a product and it is in their best interest to obfuscate as much as possible without resorting to actual lies.

What constitutes an early access game? Calling a product early access applies some sort of standard of quality to a product. We are speaking of a product that has had a very long development cycle after all. 6-8 years.

There are barely any products outside of games where you are allowed to practice business like this. You make a software for a firm and then say you'll just patch it until it works Guess what? You're getting sued.

I would just point out that this is a very grey area that came about into being, because indie developers came up with great ideas, but no funding.
And I would just also point out that because this is such a grey area, they DESERVE THE HATE when it goes bust.

You don't get to spend other people's money without consequences.

Why the hell wouldn't I believe their statement over yours. We got a town map prioritized because of player demand, we got infection early because of player demand. We are even getting the original ammo system, presumably due to player demand.

When you said "My guess is they released this game because they wanted to cash in with minimal effort or to offload the cost of development to the consumer." most of that makes no sense. In what reality is tailor making a game over the entirety of an early access cycle easier than just making a game and releasing it. It's not a subscription service, I don't pay $30 every time I want to play the game. I'm pretty sure you get more money when you released a finished product than when you promise one. That, and they didn't really "cash in" did they, what with all the refunds and all.

Now, there is definitely some truth to "to offload the cost of development to the consumer." But it couldn't have been a deciding factor. If it was then they would have given up by now due to the low income. Look y'all, I'm not tryin to get on my knees and suck off Torn Banner. But when you have a claim you gotta make the ♥♥♥♥ make sense. Please. Provide evidence, please.

So far, the only thing that Torn Banner 100% no doubt did in the wrong was release in the state that it did. The launch was horrendous, they promised a working product, but it was practically unplayable (I say practically but for all intense and purposes it was unplayable). Everything since than has been to either rectify that mistake, or improve the game. People who only care about money would have given up once it was clear they would be spending more money than they are making.

Look,
if you want to believe in the honesty and decency of people that's your prerogative and you probably should, because it's people after all.
Then there's the other people trying to sell you stuff who are another discussion entirely.
I choose to hold them accountable. This early access model is a grey area, because it is just ripe for abuse. What happened with this product is a model case of why you should not trust these developers.

The game was sentenced to a cruel end the moment Torn Banner bought the studio. If only they continued with the 2021 build...
