Choosing difficulty?

Is there a way to choose what kinds of difficulty matches I join? Nightmare mode isn't possible with the average of 4-3 players you get with most games nowadays, I'd like to choose what difficulties of matches I join instead of basically being forced to sacrifice my powerful character once he gets to a high-enough level to get assigned to nightmare mode.

Happened again just now. Got my lumberjack to max level, was put into a nightmare game with 4 other people where one of them died near-instantly and I didn't have enough equipment to reach another person, nor could I do a POI to get gear because POIs on nightmare mode are too difficult to do alone, even the starting ones.

If not the next update then soon and I mean SOON. This needs to happen, a definitive quality of life feature.
