Do people enjoy having this mechanic? Any tips on how to use the pills like do you spam all 3 uses or spread them out?

spread them out, use only when you see red veins that's when you are close to turning and the pills reset the infection duration.

if you lucky you could find a Gene injection which will remove the infection but you will have to use it twice to work (1 injection click it twice, there is a cooldown between use) when you see your character throw it away it means your infection is removed

Yes, it resets. You cannot stop the timer, just reset it. Don't spam those pills.

There's already so much to do and infinite zombie spawn with limited bandage and ammo and now we gotta micromanage with a stupid mechanic like infection, which is one of the most annoying thing in the game is a huge headache.

I can confirm, I got infected early on but find a lot of pills. The symptoms would start over again after each pill (the infection timer seems to be about 5 minutes).

It is, although pills are fairly common, so having a stock of 6 pills gives you about 30 minutes of surviving (if you space them and take them once you see the veins on the screen). Depends who's got some to share and who needs them as well

All my runs end in my dying infected/ I'm not enjoying this mechanic too much. yet to find the pills too

Pretty much the same. I get infected and then die.

No. It's just your character's status at the end. Next game you're not infected and not immune unless you have the trait.

For people who hate infection there is skills that can make it harder to get infect to not being able to be infected at all.

To correct some thing about infection and pills, after more testing :
-You can actually take several pills at once without spacing them and each will lower the infection timer (the initial timer is actually more around 10 or 15 minutes, but it takes a bit of time before you start getting some effect on your screen). You can safely take 2 pills at once when you see the veins, more I'm not sure if you "waste" some time by exceding the initial timer
-You can use pills 3 time per bottle before it's empty, so 2 full bottles allow you to take pills 6 times, which should make you last for most of the game even if you got infected early

I can't confirm but it also feels like the timer itself shortens down even further after so many resets.
