Are the two new maps kinda overtuned a bit?
I get the two new maps are alot more urban than the power plant but like there's always 4-5 zombies magically popping out of nowhere

Its way harder and you need to play differently than you did last patch. This is me NOT making the necessary adjustments in my second game. Ill try to upload my 8th or so game tomorrow so I made so needed changes.

kinda like how the first game was so no, think people need to adapt not one shotting zombies with 1 melee swing but there should be some stagger when you hit a zombie

The infinite random spawning definitely takes me out of it and makes it kinda game-y, I think the fact that most weapons were basically nerfed (stagger is a crapshot, shove is useless) in Combat 2.0 that is more the "issue."
indeed the zombie spawn pacing is really bad , no time to explore , always tryhard action

I think stealth/staying hidden got nerfed and zombies insta aggro from a good distance now. People were saying the game was too easy, and now people saying the game is too hard. You just can't win LOL. I do agree that shove got nerfed and is kinda useless now.
Absolutely is.

Already done about 5 games today, each game has only been on classic, which is supposedly the easiest difficulty. Also full 8 player lobbies. Have not evacuated once in any of my games. This has all been on the 2 new maps so far.

I'm usually good enough to survive to the last obj (just barely mind you). But by this time we reach the final obj (before extraction), over half the lobby is either dead due to infection or being overwhelmed by the ludicrous amount of zombies that are able to infinitely spawn around the corner. It doesn't help that zombies are seemingly able to lunge a full football field towards you while you are running from point A to B. A far cry from the first NMRIH, where you were able to solo most objectives maps w/ ease if you knew what you were doing. Some of the objectives in the new maps are basically impossible to do by yourself.

You absolutely need to rush the objectives in the new maps, and not in the good fun way. The moment you enter a building to do an obj, you absolutely need to rush the obj as fast as possible, or risk the obj being impossible to finish due to too many zombies blocking progression. The biggest issue w/ this approach is that you essentially need to ignore almost all form of looting, which is one of the core mechanics of this game.

Not sure how the difficulty got so overtuned like this in the game's current state. Not sure if this is the dev's response for us steamrolling the powerplant map w/ ease when the game first launched. Swear to god they don't playtest this ****. Right now, seems like every time I expend ammo to clear out a couple zombies on the obj, it feels like the game just spawns like 10 more around the corner, which also doesn't help when most of the zombies can speed-walk back to you by the time you are fully reloaded. And oops, did you get infected? Now you have an impending sense of urgency to complete the game, pills can only last so long (if you're lucky to find some even). AND THIS IS ALL ON THE EASIEST DIFFICULTY W/ 0 MODIFIERS, I HAVE NO IDEA HOW PEOPLE ARE COMPLETING THESE NEW MAPS ON THE HARDER DIFFICULTIES.

To the devs reading this (if they are even on these forums lol), please consider maybe lowering the difficulty drastically, even if it means players are steamrolling the new maps on the Classic difficulty, and move the current iteration of Classic difficulty over to the higher difficulties. Also QoL, make it so that we can select what difficulty lobby to queue for... at least that way, you aren't alienating the playerbase who desire a harder challenge. I would have more fun with that, then risk loosing a high lvl'd character, due to your lobby dying off within like the first 30 min of the game. You are absolutely going to scare off any interested players during the free weekend. On the flipside though, I will say overall this update is definitely a step in the right direction, it's just the difficulty needs immediate adjustment.

For the people who are able to complete these new maps, what is your experience been so far? Are you able to beat these new maps w/ ease, or just barely? Maybe I just suck at the game potentially, but I really want to know if the current Classic difficulty is 'fair' in your opinion.

TL;DR -> The new maps feel almost impossible to do, in the game's current state. Feel like dev's overtuned the difficulty way too much in response to us steamrolling the powerplant on the game's release. At least the connection issues seem to be in a better state.

one of the new maps forget which one the one with library has performance drops from 140 fps down to 30 fps for short burst for random unknown reasons then goes back up. Been annoying so far. The other map seems to run fine though.

One of the hardest things I found about the new maps is just the lack of supplies. me and another person opened the gun store safe room in the middle of the city on classic difficulty and low and behold: a singular medkit and 8x 9mm rounds. at a gun store.
We promptly died trying to get out of the store because its a 10'x10' supply closet and there was 20 zombies outside.
I think lewiston is the main map that is a step in the right direction. Feels very similar to the original NMRIH but they got a lot of work to do still
Maybe mix in a rarity of civilians to distract some zeds. A couple bandits couldnt hurt neither for some human warfare.

if soloing it's a bit overwhelming and if you pair up or whole group coordinates then it's underwhelming.

the nice balance is depending on skill levels and skill sets can split up and cover more group. Since i think there's a limit to add-ons 1 can ninja around and scout ping pick ups highlighting them so others can run by and snatch them up on the run
i kinda like thats its forcing teaam work problem now is you need a team that wants to work together which seems rare
Zombies just spawn infinitely, you can notice this in the park because they will just infinitely spawn and crawl off the roof of the bathrooms.
They spawn way too mcuh and too close around you
