has the gameplay loop changed much?
I played a while ago. I didn't seem like an extraction shooter then. It was more like completing tasks with other players. I'm seeing in the new reviews people saying its extraction.

Has the core game changed much since a while back now that 1.0 released...or is bascially the same?

For me extraction means you can quite happily play the game with out focusing on the tasks. Just looting, surviving and extracting (not doing the coop tasks). Is that sort of playestyle feesable and fun in this game?

On a different not if the devs read this, I would suggest its time for another free weekend now that 1.0 has released. Many people are interested in revisiting the game now.

Gameplay loop is basically the same as it was in early access.
Based on how you described extraction as "playing the game without focusing on tasks", I think this game is the opposite of what you are looking for. You need to complete tasks/objectives or you all die.

Also, there are two types of loot: guns and supplies. Your looted guns will NOT carry over (so basically they disappear after you extract), however the supplies is automatically converted into point/credit/money, so you can't really interact with it in a meaningful way

However, your character does level up and gain extra skills/perks for each successful mission or extraction, and with credits you can improve their starting loadout, and those do carry over. But if you die, the characters gone forever. So I think you should relate more the "permadeath" aspect rather than the looting aspect.
