it's fine, make a new one. they all die sooner or later
It's a permadeath system. When your responder die it's over. That's why early extraction exist so you can extract if a game is impossible to finish.
Yeah its pretty dumb for a pve game.
That's the whole point of the game. Farm rescue beacons on easier difficulties if you're scared to lose your character

They've even removed most of the viable things to get for your starting gear. So there's no point in not getting that. At least they've returned a satchel at 59'th account lvl.

few things are more viable than a satchel, a good gun, and a box of ammo. IMO they shouldn't even have loadouts and should roll back to real permadeath.

I've never understood all the whining about losing characters in the first place.

I agree it's literally the point of the game, or atleast make the rescue beacon much more expensive, like 6k credits.

Honestly, no point in using guns now. They've nerfed ammunition drops on high level difficulties, even in guns that are laying around. But cutting weapons are too OP now.

Its already too expensive if you're playing a NMM character;
Your entire loadout gets wiped, including the Beacon and whatever other items you buy for the character. That by itself is likely already over 20k credits worth of items if you're brings the best possible items + Beacon insurance.

If the character dies;
that's 20k credits up in flames.

That's roughly 11 NMM games worth of credits without dying.
That's 25-30 normal games of being the best scoring person on the team.

Like,
No the trade off for using the Beacon is already steep;
using it to keep a character alive means you're down a critical loadout slot + if you DO die;
You lose expensive loadouts that takes 10+ hours of grinding to earn back.

The item isn't a get out of jail free card;
its an expensive to use item with a bunch of downsides.

Like,
Quite literally the amount of games needed to play to get those items back;
would be the same amount of games needed to get the responder back to to the level they died at.
The only thing the Beacon is doing is to prevent you from dealing with Perk RNG again with a new responder.
Just play beginner if you don't want to lose your character. It has a timer respawn.

What are you buying exactly which accounts for 20k amount of credits on every character's death? Not trying to sound rude, i am genuinely interested couse maybe I am missing something.

Won't be talking from his side, but satchel and a beacon already 3.5k. If your random is bad, you'll invest around 5-10k in getting required skills. And if it's really bad you'll have to spend 1k to upgrade each skill.
So he's not totally wrong about spending this much on a character, but only under bad circumstances.
dont die, get to level 100
