Unable to play with friends.

I'm trying to play with a friend, but when I join them or they join me, I can't see them in the party but they can see me. And we cannot play together. is there a way to fix this?

I've had the same issue since launch! A buddy bought it for me and I'm devastated we can't get it to work. I keep checking the forums, patch notes and it's not getting a lot of attention.

I checked around and a lot of people claim it is an issue between people who use VPN's and those that don't. I'll test this with my friend later, but if you or your friends use VPN's might be worth turning them off and trying again.

Same issue here. Not running a vpn. Can't even add ppl as friends in game. Theres been complaints since 2024, incompetent devs with broken multiplayer.

a reminder, summary fro, the devs on the issue they gave about a month ago:
"we are aware of the issue and don't know how to fix it" essentially.
i was bringing the issue up for more than half a year now btw

The developers are aware of this issue and have confirmed it. However, they also stated that they are still investigating the root cause, as they do not yet know how to address it.
While the problem is a high priority, it is unclear how soon it will be resolved—though, as a last resort, they are prepared to rewrite the lobby system from scratch.
For now, all we can do is hope and keep the faith.

I can’t offer a definitive solution, other than suggesting you use a Russian program called Zapret. It fragments outgoing traffic - a method originally designed to bypass government DPI (Deep Packet Inspection) censorship, but it also resolves connection issues; lobbies start working properly, and you stop getting kicked out of games.

Try using Zapret, or look for an alternative tool for your PC that performs similar DPI fragmentation software. It will help you

tried again in the new update we spammed invites to each others like absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and it worked lol (spammed for like a half a minute)

Probably is something related with Friends List from Steam API, dunno for sure. Had such issue in the past, when developing my own game.

My friend and I have been spamming invites non stop for the last several minutes but the game will not let us play together. Every time one of us opens a menu or hit deploy it disbands the squad. Tried all sorts of different solutions to no avail. Sucks this seems like an unfixable issue with the game
