Pacing
Most of the random groups or formed co-op parties I've been in so far seem to have the Gen Z brain when it comes to pacing this game..

We're in a run and out within 15-20 minutes often times less. Just zooming past everything hardly shooting/fighting anything unless we absolutely have to for objectives.

In the first game we'd always HAVE to fight and kill things. In this I feel like I can run past everything and juke sprinters and walkers without having to fire a shot or hit anything unless they block a damn door.

Is it the players fault or the game or even both that the pacing is so fast in this regardless of how big the map is?

Depends on the difficulty, on 4 the amount of reds and sprinters makes running viable but easy to slip up on.

running is important to save ammo. I think avoiding fights when you can keeps your health as full as it can be. The distinction is that you have to know when you are able to run and when you need to clear certain areas.

I just finished a play through with 4 survivors and we took our time doing objectives and stocking up on weapons. It was pretty damn fun.

I can see matches being ruined by a group of people who just want to speed run the objectives then call for evac.

This is pretty much my experience after 5 runs. No time to explore or stock supply points at all. just spawn, zip for the first set of guns and head to refinery and complete it within 10 minutes.

That’s why we need private lobbies or maybe don’t force the match to end after a group extracts. Not sure if that makes sense though…
