the game crashed over and over before even getting to a game.
so its basically unplayable for some people. is that really better then the first game.
And what do you mean "the only real complaint"?
have you not seen your weapon models glitch out, character models glitching out, being unable to pick up certain objects as if theyre superglued to the tables, seeing zombies straight up teleport to hit you, zombies go BALD when you headshot them, limbs and brains will occasionally float in the air above zombies, if a zombie runs straight up to you and you shoot a gun, your bullets will go through them, trying to play the game at all will put you in servers with atleast 150 ping, zombie pathing will occasionally break so they will walk up to you, then turn the other way to go through a door/down some stairs just to walk back over to you, zombie animations will just straight up break occasionally, the insane amount of invisible walls has genuinely gotten me stuck to the point where i had to leave the game because i couldnt escape as the floor was slidey, going into the hospital through the pipe will cause the hospital to suddenly load in, and you will run straight into a wall, nearly killing me in the process.
But yeah you're totally right, thats only a *little* bit of complaints, even though all of this happened within the first 25 minutes of loading in
It's buggy sure but it's early access, not sure what people expected. Game runs ok for me but i know I'm brute forcing performance with my PC's hardware, DLSS, and framegen.
Have not had crashes, just slight hitches of lag or my melee weapon not registering a hit.
I've only played two matches and the second one made me really excited to see where the game goes moving forward.
How my second match went: Lost one guy early on, bumped into some one else at the gas station. Traveled together and cleared objectives. Eventually met another group of two, kept moving and met up with the rest eventually. Managed to finish and extract with everyone working together and looking out for each other. It was cool, I haven't felt that kind of comradery between strangers banding together feeling in a game in a long time. We were sharing equipment, ammo boxes and health items without a second thought. I'm excited to see where this game ends up.
They have a ways to go; bug fixes, server optimization, missing content in maps and loadouts, missing suicide and undead children which need to get re-added, and balance changes. But this is a project that I am genuinely very excited for.
There are definitely problems that don't relate at all to hardware. My is as high end as it comes.
There are also a lot of server connection problems, as they've addressed. That's my biggest issue. I played 5 straight rounds where 20-30m in I'd get disconnected. I cannot progress without escaping. I haven't even got the chance to yet.
