Is Bateman character skin still in?
A reference to the iconic character of Patrick Bateman from the American cinematography masterpiece "American Psycho"?

Oh, lets be real - of course it isn't, along with other iconic character models from the acclaimed FREE source mod No More Room In Hell, a game that features 20+ variative maps (not including a separate wave survival gamemode), offline mode and LAN hosting, tastefully-optimised-to-run-on-toasters Source SDK 2013, and a good take on Romero based zombie gameplay, that rewards coop and does not bore you to death with kiting.

It seems apparent that being acquired by Torn Banner has pretty much been a total disservice to the development team and, of course, the longtime fans of the game. Having been waiting for the game with bated breath for 10 years and rejoicing the slowly tricking teasers and development updates, I feel really betrayed - lots of cool concepts and mechanics have been thrown out, gameplay does not resemble the original game at all, obviously focused on *coop extraction mechanics*, and the empty open world map simply seems unsatisfying when compared to the objective gamemode - you basically get one mission + 2 side objectives with a few randomised objects scattered around.

At least we can enjoy all the benefits of a modern release - buggy unoptimized UE5 that chokes even on 4090, forced anticheat in a coop game (to prevent in-game currency editing, to eke out a couple more pennies), always online server verification to prevent you from playing solo offline, and, of course, a handful of signs of yet another Early Access abuse - promising you a yet another live service game and delivering you a server error notification.

Anyone defending this blunder would make a zombie starve to death, on account of having no brains!

I wish they added Bateman but since the mod was free in the first game they probably didn’t have to deal with licensing. Same with the other famous character in there forgot you can play as (Lebowski or Wally I think) lol They were planning to sell pre-order stuff with the original outfits before it was all scrapped.

I've let mine go, down the sewage pipe. The developers decided it was a good idea to publish theirs on steam, with a fair price of $30.

I don't think they could've done Bateman in any form in a paid game, due to licensing. First game being a mod let them circumvent a lot of licensing-related issues. Fingers crossed if they do character customization that you can make a Bateman look-alike, but I wouldn't be hopeful given most of the characters look like depressed middle aged hobos.

Bateman, which was metaphor for the polyamorous Beta man, might be one of the zombies, you'll have to go hunting.

christ..you are comparing a game thats been out and continuously supported for 14 YEARS. to something that has just been released, in early access mind you. so you should be COMPLETELY aware of what to expect. your argument is completely invalid. go jump in a lake will ya.

Well, In theory Devs should have and known better not deliver a promise warranted before changing into something that nobody was asking for. A generic extraction game with missing features and all that the previous builds had more finished than the actually release all these years hmmm? Early Access also doesn’t sugar coat jack squat btw.

To a game that is 10 years in development, and still released in a completely unplayable state, going as far as getting rid of features implemented in previous builds.
