How No More Room In Hell 2 Should Have Been Made (In My Opinion)
Disclaimer:
I haven't played the game yet (and hopefully I will if the game improves a ton) but I saw tons of gameplay videos and comments from other people.
If I wrote any mistakes, feel free to correct me.

1. Keep the Infection System:
The infection system made every zombie encounter a real threat, just like in the first game. It was a unique mechanic not often seen in zombie games, and its absence is a huge loss.

2. Three Game Modes:
Objective, Survival, and Extraction modes. Smaller, more varied maps would keep things fresh, with at least two / three large maps for Extraction available at launch.

3. Bring Back Classic Zombie Types:
Retain the same zombie types from the first game, including the controversial but unique and realistic zombie kids. Why not add zombie dogs too?

4. Class System for Abilities and Perks:
If you're adding perks and abilities, allow us to choose classes that make our characters distinct from others. A system like Project Zomboid, where each class affects stats and skills, would add replayability. I would make this feature optional to make everyone happy.

5. Objective Maps with Unique Tasks:
Keep objective maps, but add immersive sim elements to them. For example, a hacker could unlock certain doors with electronic devices while others can’t, or another class could be able to crawl in certain vents to find new paths. A doctor would heal fast and more. This would make each class valuable and encourage replaying maps with different classes.

6. More Guns and Ammo Types:
Add a wider variety of guns while retaining the different types of ammo. Attachments should be a feature, and mechanics like unloading weapons and suicide (to avoid becoming a runner) should return.

7. Stamina and Barricading:
Running should consume stamina, just like in the original. Also, the ability to board up doors with a hammer was essential and should have been kept like in the first game (I saw people barricading with bare hands).

8. Mod Support:
Modding support could be added post-launch, but there’s uncertainty about whether it will even happen.

9. Lower Price:
The game should have been priced lower, given the lack of content and features.

10. Inventory System:
The inventory in the first game was perfect / simple, clean, and easy to use. There was no need to change it.

10. Simple Crafting System:
Instead of finding pre-made Molotovs, why not let players craft them by combining an alcohol bottle with a rag? You could also introduce unique melee weapon crafting, similar to Resident Evil Outbreak. The game should maintain the realistic tone of the first one, and a basic crafting system would fit perfectly in my opinion.

There’s a lot more I could mention, but I’m too tired to list everything.

These are the things many people wanted. The olds builds for these are unfortunately just not there since TB stepped in. Also I miss how you can check your veins for HP count and infection. I was looking forward to them. Yikes.

what's the problem? I saw tons of videos where they were explaining the game mechanics etc.
I don't have to play the new quiet place game to know that if i make noise, the monster kills me. Your reply is useless like this game in this moment.

I don’t blame the Op for not buying the game if he was just seeing something he doesn’t like. Again, perception of the same title NMRIH with a big 2 next to it doesn’t ring a bell to you? lmao

You gotta remember, though the game is still an early access. Not only that, it's not made by the same developers that made the first game. It's made by the parent company of that development team. I respect your opinion. Obviously, I've read through it, and I agree and disagree with a few things, but I'm not going to list them here.

Because it is against lore? The Virus only reanimates humans. That has been the lore since the first game.

*shudders at the thought of zombie dogs after playing Hunt Showdown* haha - could be cool if they don't hang out in packs!

When such a small indie game developer prides itself on being connected to the community but doesn't support any workshop, it clearly shows that the developers don´t want to show their inferior skills compared to private modders who manage to work more and faster and all that for free.

Or simply want to sell new Content over DLCs, otherwise we already could have a bunch of Maps to play on...

So anyone who still believes that these developers developed a game for the community has a hole in their head.

as a person with 7, I take insult to that.

I for sure don't think they give a rats ass about community.

do I hope to be proven wrong? 100%
