Yes, gameplay is the charm. Everything is better in the second one. The look does cut it - and has nothing to do with "generic extraction" of which it isn't. Of course there's nothing of what was promised because it's early access and it got bought out. Either you like it or you don't. You don't even own the game. It was known long before the game came out that it was going to be different once a different dev got involved. It's quite obvious. If anyone is pretending to be outraged or shocked, that's on them. I've seen comments about it being different, comments about it not being free, comments about it not being complete in early access... it baffles me. People are dumb. Not all people, but a lot of people. On the internet, they play games in their mind to get whatever satisfaction they want to feel but the reality is the game is what it is - like it or not. If they had different expectations for a game they've been following so closely - they need to look at their critical thinking skills.

The Devs went silent here and there when they were merged until these latest trailers cropped up and had red flags before then. Notion then was probably they had gotten funding than rather starting over from scratch.

Something that nobody likes to be honest. Still not an excuse for waiting all these years for a company to taint the original project anyhow.

someone should just remake the original 1 to 1 with unreal 5 graphics, and let the mod community do the rest.

watching this game was so lame and disappointing i might try the first one, just to see what people hoped to see in this one. Its rare to see something so bad and mess up it make me want to try the first one
