No More Room in Hell 2

No More Room in Hell 2

Here's how to "fix" the game:
Here's what I would want in order for it to be playable, imo (bare minimum):
1. Region lock Asia and Russia.
2. Put in a ping limit. If you go above it, you get kicked, or can't join.
3. Optimise your game.
4. Lower the price. The game is barely worth 5 Euro in it's current state, let alone 29! This should've REALLY been an alpha test over anything.
5. Allow private lobbys to solo or play with friends.
6. I heard VOIP can't be turned off. So fix that if true.
7. Fix any progression breaking bugs or visuals. For example: Fuse box should not be blinking and glowing if it cannot be interacted with. Or put a prompt to clarify what needs to be done.
8. How do you reload the flashlight?

That's it. That's my list of BARE minimums I would personally want to see in order to buy the game. I will not buy the game at current price.

Here's a list of things I'd want to change:
1. The perma death doesn't work for such a large map, imo. I'd want a Left 4 Dead style respawn feature to be put in. To prevent players from being the only one left alive, unable to finish the game. Because it is a hard game. Perhaps allow 2 respawns or so before permanently dead?
Perma death worked in the original because the maps were incredibly dense and small. So even if you died, you wouldn't need to spectate (or play solo) for very long before the players either all died or made it. I would've prefered maps more similar to the original game.

2. Quality over quantity. I'd take a smaller, more interesting and detailed map over a huge map with loads of empty, pointless areas. I'd like to see the devs study the maps from the original game and make something more similar to that.

3. The zombies look awful. The screams are great! Keep the screams. But the look...is like the average Joe just woke up, had his morning coffee in his underwear and just decided to go outside and eat people. Where's the gore? Where's the blood? The zombies, 90% of the time, just look like assets of regular people and not like zombies. They should look dead, decaying, parts missing, broken, skin torn off, etc. Incredibly lazy design, imo.

4. Character loadouts should not be a thing. I know, I know, perhaps a hot take. But hear me out: Character loadouts create diversity. I would want all people in a game to start on equal footing and work together. Spawning in with some randomized melee weapons around the room, so you could choose which ones you wanted. Then finding (VERY FEW) guns around the map with very limited ammo. And you should get a random character every time you go into a game. It will prevent the "High lvl vs low lvl" mentality if everyone starts out as equals. The first game really encouraged team work.

5. This is to the original developers of the first game...if there are any left: Scrap this entire game. Take the first one, improve the textures, sort out some server issues, map choices, add private lobbies, etc and release it as a Redux. That'd be nice :gearthumbsup:

These are MY opinions. If YOU have any other opinions, feel free to post them below. It is possible to have a disgussion without being mean. Keep that in mind :dsshortcake:

Regarding region lock, here's an example:
Friend from the UK played and 5 out of 8 people had over 200 ping (most over 260). 2 out of the 8 had a ping under 100.
My friend had 4 ping = this was a UK server.
Now tell me a region lock isn't needed.

Honestly, if this game was 10 to $20, even at 20, I'd be keeping it but I'm refunding it. I played one match and enjoyed what was there but it was so buggy and the performance was so terrible that it just kind of ruined the experience. I have no interest in continuing if it's just going to play like this

I think that was a good choice, tbh. And I'd probably think the same. In it's current state, it looks more like an alpha version of the game and they're asking a very high price for what they're providing, imo. This feels like they're just using the name IP for a quick cash grab with 0 respect for the original game. I haven't bought it because I can't support that.

you reload the flashlight by finding a battery, then holding the battery, then left clicking it like a medkit btw

Good to know. Thank you! I watched my friend play and that was one of the questions we had. He had the battery, just wasn't sure what to do with it.

@Avi I partially agree with your load-out suggestion, but hear me out. Even those that have completed an operation and extracted usually have few rounds of ammo left by the time they escape. The only bonuses they receive are minuscule, such as dmg boosts to dual handed melee or increased range with rifles.

I was granted LV10 to my first character post extraction.

I personally believe ranged weapons to be heavily balanced currently. They could gladly receive huge nerf's tho if they ever decided to remove the 'red-eyed menaces'.

Swarms are almost unbeatable solo. Its heavily balanced around teamwork which makes it fun.

Lastly the zombies do look egregious, but at least the 'fresh' ones look almost alive. You will notice the 'bloodied and gored' zombies to be the 'red-menaces' I hinted to earlier. They take a beating and keep on eating. At least they don't run?

having "1. Region lock Asia and Russia." as a start made me laugh
they shouldn't region lock asia or russia, this is not a game where hackers would be THAT bad.
they should just give us an abiliti to choose servers

Region locks mean absolute nothing in the world of vpn's. They're much more commonplace than you can imagine. Just ask anyone who plays korean mmo's.

Also your rant is hella strange for someone who doesn't even own the game.

region lock is used in the games where hacking industry is so bad that they actually lock the people from some countries.
in NMRiH 2 there should just be a way to pick a server for yourself.

For 6, you can adjust output volume of voice (meaning effectively muting it).

you've completely missed my point, if you want to use VPNs then go for it, but if the only way to play is to random queue, then i want to random queue with people in my region so i get better ping, and in a co-op only game how much damage can you really do with hacking? spinbot zombies? okay? lol

I'm actually mostly not thinking about hackers, although that is a concern too. But they never speak English, they're horribly sexist and treat anyone who doesn't speak their own language like crap, yet insist on going on servers where there will be English speaking people. So...in my opinion, they should play with each other. And not with the rest of EU, where most people at least know and are willing to speak some English so that the whole team can understand each other and work together. Not to mention the ping limit. If Asia and A huge section of Russia play with EU, they will have super high ping and everyone will lag. There are a LOT of Russians and they completely flood any server. So it wouldn't ruin the game for them to just play within russia.

The ability to choose servers up to a certain ping limit would help. But I think there should still be region locks.

huh, i thought it was locking those people in those regions to play in those regions specifically, but yes a server browser is 100% what this game needs, funny how they didnt learn from Payday 3 which is getting the exact same treatment

First. Ty for your very resonable input :) My main reason for not wanting loadouts is that I want the weapons you get each game to be random. Like in the first game. You spawned in a room with some weapons scattered around and you had to go and pick out the one you wanted before anyone else could take it. I actually liked that aspect of the game.

And yeah, I've understood that the game is really hard. Which is why I suggested the respawn thing ^^ Private lobbies would also hugely help, imo. Then you could play with people who you knew would do some teamwork with you. They desperately need private lobbies above any other addition to the game, imo.

And even fresh zombies would've had to be bitten to become zombies. So I still think there should be some sign of that in every single zombie model. And when you die, you become pale. And the zombies in this game look very...average. Just a lazy design, if you ask me ^^ But this is common for early access games, which is why I didn't put it in the "Bare minimum"-list.
